1844 and the 2300 Days Made Simple

Many Adventists say that they do not understand 1844 and the Investigative Judgment, that it is too complicated for them. Others confirm this by discussing technical details without end. The result is that many think that it is enough to believe the simple Gospel and leave such matters aside.

But the Gospel they nearly always refer to is far more difficult to comprehend than the 2300 days. It is difficult to see how the Jesus such people make out to be God Almighty is different from the pagan Roman emperor the Romans worshipped. It is difficult to see how the Atonement finished on the cross is different from the Roman crucifix and the stations of the cross. In fact, the pretence of Gospel simplicity is not only complicated and impossible to explain or understand, it is a return to Rome.

The true Gospel is clearly predicted in the book of Daniel, and outlined in the 2300-day prophecy in a simple, point by point way in Daniel 8 and 9. The book of Daniel is one of the most exciting books of the Bible because of the detail of prophecy. The series of empires in Daniel 2 is followed by more detailed visions showing the history of the Middle East and the world down to the end of the world. But the time visions of Daniel 8 and 9 are among the most remarkable.

The problems set forth in the book of Daniel appear in the first verses. (Dan 1:1)  In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it. (Dan 1:2)  And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.

The entire book of Daniel focuses on the plight of Jerusalem and the temple in Jerusalem, the holy sanctuary, both of which were destroyed. But Daniel's view goes beyond the earthly situation to the heavenly in every event, and is the most detailed and yet simple explanation of the Gospel in the Bible. Keeping these two points in mind will help to understand everything in the book of Daniel, including the time prophecies of chapters 8 and 9.

(Dan 8:13)  Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? (Dan 8:14)  And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

The point of the Gospel is the restoration of ”the sanctuary and the host”. The 2300-day prophecy outlines year by year when and how this takes place. Daniel recognized that each day represented a year. That is why he is so stunned at the length of time in Daniel 8. That is also why he recognized the closeness of fulfilment of Jeremiah's prophecy of the captivity at the beginning of Daniel 9:2. But he did not know when the 2300 years or prophetic days would begin, or what important events lay within that period of time. The explanation quite naturally comes in Daniel 9.

(Dan 9:24)  Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.  (Dan 9:25)  Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. (Dan 9:26)  And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. (Dan 9:27)  And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

From these verses we get first the starting point of the time prophecy: the going forth of the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. We need only find that historical date, and all of the other dates fall into place. In 457 B.C., a decree was granted to Ezra by the Persian emperor Artaxerxes Longimanus. A copy of the decree is found in Ezra 7. All ancient dates are confirmed by reference to the canon of Ptolemy, which is based on the dates of a score of eclipses, and so we know them for certainty. So the dates of Daniel 8 and 9 beginning at B.C. 457 can be easily calculated:

B.C. 457 2300 days and 70 weeks begin.

B.C. 408 the end of seven weeks (49 days).

A.D. 27 the end of seven weeks and sixty-two weeks.

A.D. 31 the middle of the seventieth week.

A.D. 34 the end of the seventieth week.

A.D. 1844 the end of the 2300 days.

A review of the traditionally accepted dates for each of the events mentions shows them to have been fulfilled precisely. The city of Jerusalem was rebuilt in B.C. 408, the coming of Messiah the Prince was fulfilled at Jesus' baptism in A.D. 27, the Messiah was cut off by his crucifixion in A.D. 31, the 70 weeks cut off for the Jewish people ended when the Sanhedrin officially rejected the Messiah and in evidence of it stoned Stephen in A.D. 34, and finally Christ stepped into the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary to make atonement for sin in A.D. 1844. When that work of cleansing the sanctuary is finished, Christ will return as promised. But there is no date given for that event.

In the process of restoring the sanctuary and the hosts, that is the people, the following five  things had to take place. They fit simply on the fingers of one hand.

Jerusalem and the temple rebuilt.

The baptism of Jesus.

The crucifixion of Jesus.

The Gospel sent to the Gentiles.

The sanctuary cleansed.

God moves simply from the earthly and carnal to the heavenly and inner. Each of these five events is necessary to restore the sanctuary and the people. If we set up a different goal from that of restoring the sanctuary and the people, we are inventing a pagan religion. Those who merely desire personal salvation are imitating the mystery cults of the Roman empire, cults that promised personal salvation. That is not what the God of the Bible promises. He promises to restore the sanctuary and the people. Any faith or gospel that promises something else is simply false.

Each of these events is necessary. If we deny even one of them, we have invented a false system of faith, a pagan religion. If we focus on just one of them and forget the rest, such as the central one of all, the crucifixion, the result is to invent a religion that does not differ essentially from the Mithra cult or the Dionysian cult. Again, we have made ourselves pagans, outside the faith of the God of the Bible. Evangelical Christians make a great deal over the fact that Jesus, as contrasted with the man-gods of these pagan cults, is historical rather than mythical. But they take him out of his Biblical history by denying the equal importance, in its sphere, of each of the essential events in history that make up the plan of salvation, or the restoration of the sanctuary and the people.

What takes place at each of the historical events making up the restoration of the sanctuary and the people?

The rebuilding of the city and temple reinstated the temple service, which was a concrete and visible representation of what God was doing for humankind. Before the coming of Christ it presented the course of divine grace to those who participated in it and saw the annual cycle of feasts that represented what was happening in the plan of salvation. The feasts were the Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the feast of Tabernacles. These were all displayed as though in theater in the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. Each of them represented something in the course of events by which the sanctuary and the people are restored. The spring feasts focused on Jesus' earthly ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension into the holy place of the heavenly sanctuary. The fall feasts focused on the later ministry in the heavenly sanctuary.

The second step in the divine plan to restore the sanctuary and the people was the inauguration of Jesus' ministry at his baptism. He was declared the son of God, in whom God is well pleased, by the very voice of God. That voice had not been heard publicly since the giving of the ten commandments on Mount Sinai. Jesus' work on earth began.  Jesus came to earth and brought truth and life to those around him by his teaching and healing. He was the word made flesh. What was known of God's will in the ten commandments verbally became visible in living flesh and blood.

The third step in the divine plan to restore the sanctuary and the people was the crucifixion of Jesus, his death, burial, resurrection and ascension. The life, death, and resurrection of Christ made it possible for him to step into the heavenly sanctuary as the true high priest of which the temple priest was a figure, following a law that was a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. This step was not only necessary to fulfill prophecy, but in this step Christ was qualified to fill the role of the hight priest in the heavenly sanctuary.

The fourth step in the divine plan was to remove the focus from an earthly sanctuary and a particular people and place it on the true sanctuary, the heavenly sanctuary, and for all people. At the condemnation of Stephen, the Jewish nation was not rejected, but all nations were given equal opportunity with the Jews to become a part of the people restored. Instead of an earthly priesthood, Jesus served as the priest for all people who had faith in him and even for many who did not know him, but turned to God by the action of the Holy Spirit that Jesus sent from the heavenly sanctuary.

The fifth and last step then comes. Following the model as portrayed by the annual feasts, the cleansing of the sanctuary, which began in 1844 refers to the priestly action that took place on the Mosaic Day of Atonement. The fall feast of the Day of Atonement was the only time the high priest went into the Most Holy Place of the temple to make an atonement for the sanctuary, for himself and for the people. Jesus likewise stepped into the Most Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary beginning in 1844. There he does the work of Atonement. When the Atonement for the sanctuary and the people is completed, he will come out of the Most Holy Place and the work will be done. A few days will pass and then he will return to earth to receive those whose sins have been blotted out by his Atoning intercession in the sanctuary. Their sins are not merely forgiven. They are blotted out. With rejoicing they enter into the celebration of the heavenly Feast of Tabernacles.

The message of the 2300 days or prophetic years is simple and straightforward. God provided an object lesson to explain what he was about to do to restore the sanctuary and the people. Jesus, the son of God, came to live and die among humankind, was resurrected and ascended into the heavenly sanctuary to serve as the true priest for the people. As they prayed for forgiveness, their sins were removed to the sanctuary through Christ's intercession. In 1844 Christ has been engaging in the work of blotting out the sins from the sanctuary and the people. When this has been finished the sanctuary and the people will be restored.

This is the true plan of salvation. It is a far cry from the one found among the daughters of Babylon. Babylon holds that killing a man in the Middle East resolves all problems. That is an old pagan thought. In times of catastrophe, the people used to sacrifice an innocent victim to apease the gods and avert disaster. That is the same belief found in Evangelical Christianity today. It is a serious error, because it not only leads individuals into depravity and eventual loss of eternal life, but it affect political decisions. Today the most commonly believed political concept is that crucifying more people in the Middle East will solve the world's problems and make a new world order, a paradise on earth. It will not happen. That is because the basis is a pagan error that is not only opposed to God's plan of salvation, but it is grossly illogical and irrational as well.

The truth is the five great events of the plan of salvation. Each individual may participate in them. We read the Bible to understand the plan of salvation in word and type. We are baptized with Jesus and participate in his life and death and resurrection. God Himself declares that we are His beloved children in whom He is well pleased. We rely on Christ by faith to have our sins, the transgression of the ten commandments, forgiven. We rely on Christ by faith to have our sins blotted out forever. We await is second coming, when the sanctuary and people will be restored for ever.

This is the patience of the saints. Here are they that keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus.

Yes I agree that the word says to live now, in the moment.
yet the Raptureites would rather contend over a heretical point and go round & round & round To never come to the simple clear reality of the matter.
We are supposed to contend for the Truth which is my stance, not like the some others seem to.
We should absolutely nevet let the serpent take a concept out of context only to cause our minds to be fixated on another time frame and event that has not occured.
That's one of the ploys of the Rapturites games.
Dealing with people like them never yields any peaceable fruit to our spirit or souls.

The word of God has found out the sin of the rapturites

Jn 11:10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
2 Tim 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
Matt 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
The Only prophets we had told us to be aware of the current day decievers and their heresies they operate in.
The antichrist we were warned of that it was prophecied about that would come from within the body of believers, have plainly identified themselves..Thx.
Matthew 3:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire

Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
"the reapers are the angels."
Fan + Reapers are the angels..
Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
"send his angels"..
Fan + Reapers are the angels + send his angels + Loud Trump sound At his appearence.
The misdirecrion of the RUPTURISTS have some major logistical issues here.
The Rapturites said it was secret & silent. They said it was Christ who would gather. They said the world will continue on after the event occurs.
Nobody goes anywhere untill he comes back in person and when he does show up, it's over!
And then boys & girls we get this other scriptures too so there is a bit more clarity on this uncontroversial subject..
Ps 50:3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
Ps 68:2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
Isa 54:10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
Isa 64:1 Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,
2 As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!
3 When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.
Isa 66:15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.
2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2 Thess 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
2 Thess 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
Looks like the word of God has stood the test of time & examination if is true and tells us how the scenario will be as per the inerrant word.
The rapturiites have been handed over to a reprobate mind and plainly do not read the word with any understanding yet would rather poison the body to cause divisions.

Just asking...
written by Achilles Jose Paril, September 19, 2009
Can you please give me suggestions on how can I start a simple fellowship, including my family, about 5 club members and my girlfriend? I'm having a really hard time with my family's faith and belief; first, we are all Catholics (even my girlfriend and my club members). Second, The 10 commandments my family knew and the 10 commandments that I knew God has written is a very big deal. Discussing religious matters, my family members usually answer me, "Whatever is right for you may be wrong for others, and vice versa." Bible reading looks like a bit rare for us, except for one of my younger brother(3rd from the eldest, I'm the first born). Though he knows more of what the Bible has than what I know, yet he keeps his church day every Sunday. I debated it to him a long time ago, yet majority, or all of my family members, bet on him.

In balancing time, I can manage to have a fellowship time some time every Saturdays. My club members are all high school students with different religions but a lot of questions regarding the Scriptures. They are willing to learn, only that their home environment gives them the puzzle. Please help me on this.

I believe in what God has in stored for us, as well as in what we should do after we are granted by God's rewards. I wanted to have other people also to know the eal deal regarding faith in God. My girlfriend is willing to be baptized as a true Christian (I let her know the real thing behind the Catholic system, my reason also for conversion). We wanted to go to some fellowships, but the thing is that they flow in the same idea and the Mass is held every Sundays...

I hope for any response for the good of the people I've talked about, as well as the next ones who are interested to have part with us to have time with God.

Thanks and God bless! smilies/smiley.gif

zobcity1,
I have read and re-read your comment, and am having trouble making any sense of it. Presumably it is a response to my comments?
For instance, what in the world are "RUPTURISTS"??? Are you referring to the people who believe in the RAPTURE?? If so, then you had best include yourself (if you do follow Ellen G White) along with all SDAs and every writer on this forum, as "RAPTURE" is simply the anglicisation of the Latin word "RAPIEMUR" which translates the Greek word "HARPAZO" from these Scriptures –

2 Corinthians 12:2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was CAUGHT UP TO THE THIRD HEAVEN – whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows.
2 Corinthians 12:3 And I know that this man was CAUGHT UP INTO PARADISE – whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows.
1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then WE WHO ARE ALIVE, WHO ARE LEFT, WILL BE CAUGHT UP TOGETHER WITH THEM IN THE CLOUDS TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR, and so we will always be with the Lord.
Revelation 12:5 She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but HER CHILD WAS CAUGHT UP TO GOD AND TO HIS THRONE.

SDAs and Ellen Whiteists have a very distorted idea of the RAPTURE. They imagine that it was invented by some lunatic fringe element, when in fact, it is the central doctrine of the orthodox Christian faith. All that "RAPTURE" means is, the CATCHING UP OF THE SAINTS WHICH WILL OCCUR WHEN JESUS RETURNS FOR HIS BRIDE, THE CHURCH. It is the actual process by which both the living and the dead are transformed from their earthly physical mortal bodies, into their heavenly spiritual eternal bodies, and are CAUGHT UP (or, RAPTURED) into heaven. In other words, THE RAPTURE IS ACTUALLY THE RESURRECTION. Therefore, to deny the RAPTURE is to deny the RESURRECTION, which is the ultimate goal of our faith in Christ Jesus.

As for the "RUPTURISTS" claiming that "in the future there will be no time to repent" ... please check your Ellen G White references, which will show you that while the real Christians in the 1840s were faithfully preaching the true gospel including the RAPTURE, Ellen White was preaching that the door to heaven had already been SHUT and that NOBODY, except she and her little flock, could henceforth be saved.

In fact, you are very confused, and no wonder, if you believe the stuff written by Ellen G White!

ANTICHRIST will make the 7-Year Covenant
written by Lorraine Clarke, August 18, 2009
zobcity1,
Your garbled sentence about "Yeshua taken away" again is incomprehensible. For starters, Yeshua / Jesus was NOT "taken away at 3 1/3"(whatever that means – years???) The SDAs state that Jesus' ministry was 3 1/2 years, NOT 3 1/3 years. But a simple reading of the Gospels proves that Jesus' ministry could NOT have been as long as 3 1/2 years, and in fact, was only about 2 1/2 years. Therefore, Yeshua was NOT "taken away at the middle of the week".
Even if He had been, this would not have fulfilled Daniel's prophecy, which reads:
DAN 9:27 AND HE SHALL MAKE A STRONG COVENANT WITH MANY FOR ONE WEEK, AND FOR HALF OF THE WEEK HE SHALL PUT AN END TO SACRIFICE AND OFFERING.
It is clear that Jesus did NOT make a covenant with ANYBODY for 7 years, nor for 3 1/2 years. It is impossible for Jesus to make a Covenant and then to break it, because He is the Angel of the LORD described here –
Judges 2:1 Now the angel of the LORD went up from Gilgal to Bochim. And he said, "I brought you up from Egypt and brought you into the land that I swore to give to your fathers. I SAID, 'I WILL NEVER BREAK MY COVENANT WITH YOU."
That is proof that the covenant-breaker mentioned in Daniel 9:27 is NOT Jesus, but the ANTICHRIST, the BEAST, who will make a 7-year Covenant, and then break it halfway through. Since that has not yet occurred, then it must remain to be fulfilled in the future. That emasn that the 70th year of Daniel is still an unfulfilled prophecy.
It is also clear that the sacrifice and offering in the Temple did NOT cease until 40 years after the Cross, in 70 AD.
There is absolutely NO proof that Stephen's martyrdom occurred 3 1/2 years after the Cross.
Even if by some coincidence Stephen died 3 1/2 years after Jesus, there is absolutely NO proof that this marked the end of a 7-year period, the "70th Week" of Daniel.
This 1844 AD and 2,300 years doctrine is utterly false.

Seems there is a new concept in the area. Splitting up a prophecy as such to where the 70th week is "yet" to be fulfilled. Tell me why the only sacrifice Yeshua was taken away at 3 1/3 (middle of a week) of his ministry and the oblation laws stopped-ceased at the same point thus showing only the two events could have been as Daniels stated like they were. The 70th week "forcasting" to a future time to complete is called "Futurism theology" which is very inconsistent and in this case flat not possible as its meaning was plainly done before us and no other situation can replace it. The rupturists love to distort that one as to imply in the future there will be no ability to repent yet Rev says in the plagues they "still would not repent" thus showing it is possible. Sorry rupturists.

Spot the Obvious Mistakes in 2,300 Years & 1844 AD, PART 8
written by Lorraine Clarke, June 21, 2009
As for the year of 1844:

Ellen G White stated that the Day of Atonement, on which Jesus first went into the Holy of Holies in heaven, was in the 7th Jewish month, on Tishri 10th, which fell on October 23, 1844. However, this is impossible. Every calendar proves that the Day of Atonement in 1844, fell on September 23.

Had it been on October 23, then the previous Passover would have occurred 6 months earlier, in the 1st Jewish month of Nisan, on May 3, 1844. This is impossible, as the Passover is always on Nisan 14. This date is calculated to be 14 days after the date of the New Moon closest to the Vernal Equinox, which occurs on March 21 or 22.

In 1844, the New Moon closest to the Spring Equinox occurred on MARCH 20. PASSOVER thus fell 2 weeks later, on APRIL 3, 1844. The Day of Atonement then fell 6 months later, on SEPTEMBER 23, 1844.

If the Passover in 1844 had occurred (as EGW's doctrine of the Investigative Judgement requires) on 3 May, then its previous New Moon would have been on 19 April. That is a full 4 weeks AFTER the Equinox. That would make the Passover fully 6 weeks AFTER the Equinox.

There is absolutely no way that the Passover can have fallen as late as May 3, 1844. Not in 1844, nor in any other year. Passover CANNOT fall in May, because it is tied to the Vernal Equinox and the phases of the Moon. Since it is based on the New Moon closest to the Equinox, the latest that this New Moon can ever fall, is 2 weeks after Equinox. Then, the latest that Passover can fall, even following a year with a second 12th month of Adar, is 4 weeks after the equinox. Passover, 14 Nisan, ALWAYS falls AT LEAST 2 weeks earlier than 3 May.

So, here are several unarguable FACTS which prove that SDA doctrine and the SDA prophet, have been undeniably false from the very beginning.

SUMMARY:
These facts prove that:
1.there was no decree to rebuild Jerusalem given in 457 BC;
2.Jesus was not baptised in 27 AD;
3.Jesus did not die in 31 AD;
4.therefore Jesus did not fulfil the prophecy of Antichrist in Daniel 9:27;
5.therefore the 70th Week did not end at 34 AD;
6.therefore God did not abandon the Jews in 34 AD;
7.thus 490 years did not end at 34 AD nor begin at 457 BC;
8.therefore 2,300 years did not begin at 457 BC;
9.Jesus most certainly did not “enter the heavenly sanctuary on October 23 1844.”
10.The 70th Week of Daniel remains to be fulfilled immediately before Jesus returns.

It is therefore an inescapable conclusion that the Investigative Judgement is a monumental HOAX.

Spot the Obvious MIstakes in 2,300 Years & 1844 AD, PART 7
written by Lorraine Clarke, June 21, 2009
The exact year of Jesus' return may not be given, but the Bible is much more specfic about it than people suppose. There are MANY verses which tell us that such-and-such an event will continue UNTIL the Messiah comes to destroy the Beast.
I find it inexplicable that, despite the many references to the time prophecies variously given in the forms of “Sevens”, “Weeks”, months, days and “Times”, Ellen G White's followers seem unable to correlate them all with the Last Days. Even though “the 70th Week” is obviously a period of 7 years, which is equivalent to two periods of 3 ½ years which can be defined as 1,260 days or 42 months each; and though these can be correctly referred to a “A Time, Times and Half a Time”, Adventists refuse to admit that eaach mention of thee time periods, refers to the same period of 7 years. Thus, they miss the true chronology of prophetic events.
Although the “70 Weeks” has already been extrapolated into 70 Sevens of Years or 490 literal years, these people insist on taking the resultant final 7 years, and extrapolating them AGAIN, this time, from the 1,260 literal DAYS of that “half a Week”, into another 1,260 YEARS. That is crazy. The original figure was 3 ½ “DAYS” or half the 70th Week; Ellen White stretched this into 3 ½ years from Jesus' baptism to His death, which would equal 1,260 DAYS. But whenever the figure “1,260 Days” is encountered, instead of accepting that this is a literal figure, Ellen White then turns each of those days into a full year. Those first 3 ½ “Days” have thus become 1,260 YEARS.
When one parallels every mention of each of those time periods and the events which occupy them, then a very different picture emerges for the events of the Last Days.
As it is obvious that the scenario taught here by WLC cannot possibly be correct, due to the dates 27 AD, 31 AD, 34 AD, 457 BC and 1844 AD, and the times of 490 years and 2,300 years, all having been totally discredited, then it is high time that this alternative be thoroughly investigated.

John's prophecy parallels Daniel's prophecy, as it re-iterates the very same things that he recorded: the final 3 ½ years, the Jewish Temple, the sacrifices on the altar, the trampling of Jerusalem and the Jews by the Gentiles, all under the authority of the Antichrist:
Dan 8:9 Out of one of them came a little horn, which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the glorious land.
Dan 8:10 It grew great, even to the host of heaven. And some of the host and some of the stars it threw down to the ground and trampled on them.
Dan 8:11 It became great, even as great as the Prince of the host. And the regular burnt offering was taken away from him, and the place of his sanctuary was overthrown.
Dan 8:12 And a host will be given over to it together with the regular burnt offering because of transgression, and it will throw truth to the ground, and it will act and prosper.
Dan 8:13 Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the one who spoke, "For how long is the vision concerning the regular burnt offering, the transgression that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled underfoot?"
Dan 8:14 And he said to me, "For 2,300 evenings and mornings. Then the sanctuary shall be restored to its rightful state."
These prophecies were both written after the destruction of the Temple, Jerusalem and the Jews; they were written about 600 years apart; yet they both prophesy the destruction of a FUTURE TEMPLE, and the FUTURE persecution of the Jews, ad the FUTURE trampling of Jerusalem. That Daniel's prophecy came perfectly true, is endorsement for the soon fulfilmet of John's prophecy, to the letter. For that to happen, there MUST be another Jewish Temple built shortly.

All who subscribe to the “cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary” doctrine must deny the truth of these interlocking prophecies, and many others related to them. They do not know their Bibles, or they could not contradict the Word of God in this way. They have done much study of just a very few selected prophecies, and ignored hundreds of related passages.
Here, I present a list of all the passages referring to all 3 events which remain to fulfil both Daniel and John's prophecies:

Here are all the mentions of these 3 events which occur during the 2,300 days:

2."It set itself up to be as great as the Prince of the host;
1.it took away the daily sacrifice from him, and
3.the place of His sanctuary was brought low."Daniel 8:11

2."Because of rebellion,
3.the host of the saints, and
1.the daily sacrifice were given over to it."Daniel 8:12

"For how long is the vision concerning -
1.the continual burnt offering,
2.the transgression that makes desolate, and
3.the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled underfoot?"
And he said to him, "For 2,300 evenings and mornings;
then the sanctuary shall be restored to its rightful state."Daniel 8:13,14

3."War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.
2.He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven'.
In the middle of the 'seven'
1.he will put an end to sacrifice and offering.
On a wing of the Temple he will set up
2.an abomination that causes desolation until the end that is decreed is poured out on him."Daniel 9:26,27

3."His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the Temple fortress and
1.will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up
2.the abomination that causes desolation."Daniel 11:31

... it would be for a time, two times, and half a time; and that
3.when the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.
1.... From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished, and
2.the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.
Daniel 12:7,11

I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told,
3."Go, measure the Temple of God and
1.the altar and
3.the people who worship there.
2.But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles.
3.They will trample on the Holy City for 42 months." Revelation 11:1,2

6.Jesus does not need to cleanse the heavenly Holy of Holies, which is by definition, already perfectly holy. The Bible says in many places, that He will come to His Temple ON EARTH, after He has destroyed Antichrist and the False Prophet.
Mal 3:1 "Behold, I send my messenger and he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, he is coming, says the LORD of hosts.
The Jews will rcognise their Messiah during the Great Tribulation:
Zec 12:10 "And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.
Ezekiel prophesied in several chapters, about the rebuilt Temple to which the Messiah will come. This is not the Temple built after the Exile, according to many specific details:
Eze 40:2 In visions of God he brought me to the land of Israel, and set me down on a very high mountain, on which was a structure like a city to the south.
Eze 40:3 When he brought me there, behold, there was a man whose appearance was like bronze, with a linen cord and a measuring reed in his hand. And he was standing in the gateway.
Eze 40:4 And the man said to me, "Son of man, look with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart upon all that I shall show you, for you were brought here in order that I might show it to you. Declare all that you see to the house of Israel."
Eze 40:5 And behold, there was a wall all around the outside of the temple area, and the length of the measuring reed in the man's hand was six long cubits, each being a cubit and a handbreadth in length. So he measured the thickness of the wall, one reed; and the height, one reed.
Eze 43:1 Then he led me to the gate, the gate facing east.
Eze 43:2 And behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the east. And the sound of his coming was like the sound of many waters, and the earth shone with his glory.
Eze 43:3 And the vision I saw was just like the vision that I had seen when he came to destroy the city, and just like the vision that I had seen by the Chebar canal. And I fell on my face.
Eze 43:4 As the glory of the LORD entered the temple by the gate facing east,
Eze 43:5 the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the temple.
Eze 43:6 While the man was standing beside me, I heard one speaking to me out of the temple,
Eze 43:7 and he said to me, "Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the people of Israel forever.”
Ezekiel also describes the cleansing of the altar, and here, the Temple, after Jesus the Prince has returned:
Eze 45:18 "Thus says the Lord GOD: In the first month, on the first day of the month, you shall take a bull from the herd without blemish, and purify the sanctuary.
Eze 45:19 The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering and put it on the doorposts of the temple, the four corners of the ledge of the altar, and the posts of the gate of the inner court.”
John, writing nearly 30 years after the Second Temple had been destroyed as Daniel prophesied, saw a similar vision to Ezekiels, which confirms that Ezekiel's Temple remains to be built in Jerusalem, that it will be defiled by the Antichrist and trampled by the Gentiles for 3 ½ years, implying that it will then be restored to its proper state:
Rev 11:1 Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff, and I was told, "Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there,
Rev 11:2 but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for 42 months.

5.The Bible does NOT tell us that it is the “heavenly sanctuary” which is to be “cleansed”. Apart from any justifiable disputes over the meaning of the word translated “cleansing”, Scripture simply does not allow that it is the sanctuary in heaven which is referred to.

The overwhelming evidence against this prophecy referring to the HEAVENLY sanctuary of course, is that by definition, the heavenly sanctuary, the dwellingplace of the most holy God, is the HOLY of HOLIES, and it will NEVER NEED CLEANSING. It is blasphemous to say otherwise. This verse tells us that Jesus Himself is holy and unstained, separated from sinners in heaven; how absurd then to insist that God's own holy throne-room is contaminated by sin!

Heb 7:26 For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

One of the meanings of the word “holy” is, “set apart”, and this perfectly explains the uncrossable chasm between sinful man on earth, and sinless God in heaven. There is simply no sin there, never was, and never will be. The heavenly sanctuary will NEVER need to be “cleansed”. Therefore, it can only be the eathly Temple in Jerusalem which is intended, which can indeed be ceremonially defiled and physically damaged. Perpetrators of this theory, always say that there is no earthly Temple since 70 AD, therefore it cannot be the Temple on earth which is meant. But that is a false argument. When Daniel wrote this prophecy, there was no Temple in Jerusalem! The Jews were exiles in Babylon, and the city of Jerusalem had been destroyed for many years already. That did not prevent him from recording God's words.

Dan 8:13 Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the one who spoke,
"For how long is THE VISION CONCERNING
a.the regular burnt offering,
b.the transgression that makes desolate, and
c.the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled underfoot?"
Dan 8:14 And he said to me, "For 2,300 evenings and mornings. Then the sanctuary shall be restored to its rightful state."

It is obvious, by reference to the MANY OTHER SCRIPTURES WHICH REFER TO EXACTLY THE SAME 3 ELEMENTS IN THIS TIME PROPHECY, that it has nothing to do with the Messiah entering the heavenly sanctuary in 1844 AD. The Messiah is not mentioned. The 3 things that are mentioned, are:

a.the suspension of the daily sacrifices in the Temple in Jerusalem
b.the Abomination of Desolation who desecrates the Temple in Jerusalem
c.the persecution of the Jews and physical defiling of the Temple in Jerusalem,

all of which will occupy 2,300 evenings and mornings. These are the 3 things which the angel asks about. It is obvious that these 3 things did not commence in 457 BC, and they certainly did not continue until 1844 AD. Therefore, it is demonstrated that the 2,300 evenings and mornings is NOT 2,300 years extending from 457 BC to 1844 AD. It MUST be 2,300 literal, 24-hour days.

Since the Temple has not yet been rebuilt in Jerusalem, this prophecy must still remain as a future event. It is agreed that this prophecy cannot have been literally fulfilled by Antichus Epiphanes, although he was a TYPE of the eventual Antichrist who will fulfil the role of the Abomination of Desolation who will make a 7-year covenant with the Jews, then break it after 3 ½ years; who will desecrate the Temple, and who will persecute the Jews and Jerusalem, UNTIL Jesus returns to destroy him. Jesus Himself proved that Antiochus was just a type of the reality, when He said this:

Mat 24:15 "So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
Mat 24:16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.”

This prophecy was fulfilled in 70 AD of course, when TITUS also became another TYPE of the coming Antichrist; Jesus knew that Antiochus had partially fulfilled Daniel's prophecy, yet He said that the same thing would happen again in 70 AD. The Christians of that time were all saved by fleeing Jerusalem as Jesus warned them to, when the Temple was desecrated by the Abomination of Desolation; when the Jews were persecuted; and when the city was trampled by a type of the future Antichrist. Even that was not the final fulfilment of Daniel's prophecy, because Jesus then said that 70 AD would not be the end, but (as Daniel always did), He continued to describe events that would lead up to His Second Coming. Antiochus and Titus were just illustrations of the full horror which is to come in the Last Days.

At that time, after Jesus returns, the Temple in Jerusalem will then be repaired and reconsecrated, restored to its rightful state; this is the true meaning of the “cleansing of the sanctuary” after 2,300 24-hour DAYS.

3.Jesus CANNOT have died on the Cross in 31 AD. As everybody knows, the Lamb of God died at Passover, which is always on Nisan 14, when the lambs were sacrificed. The Bible tells us that Jesus died on the Day of Preparation (Friday), that He was in the grave on the Sabbath (Saturday), and that He rose again before dawn on the First Day (Sunday). Therefore, He must have died in a year when the Passover was celebrated on a Friday. Unlike the Western calendar with its “Good Friday” which falls on a Friday every single year, Passover does not fall on the same day every year. Ellen White aparently had no idea about this. However, Passover in 31 AD fell on MONDAY, not Friday. There is no way whatsoever to reconcile a Friday Cross with Passover in the year 31 AD.

The Bible also tells us that Jesus died in a year when the Sabbath during Passover was a High Day. This only occurs rarely, when 14 Nisan happens to land on a weekly Sabbath. Then, all the tasks that should have been performed on 14 Nisan, must be brought forward one day, so that the lambs were killed on the previous Friday 13th Nisan, instead. In every other year, the annual High Day (Shabbat Hagadol) is celebrated on the Sabbath preceding the Passover week. Therefore, Jesus must have died not just in any year when 14 Nisan fell on a Friday, but when it landed on a Saturday, and Passover had to be moved forward to Friday. The only years when this happened near the time of the Cross, are the years 22 AD, 29 AD, and 42 AD. Jesus MUST have died in one of these years, not in 31 AD. 29 AD is obviously the only year which fits all of the Biblical criteria.

4.There is no Biblical evidence that the Sanhedrin “officially rejected Jesus” and had Stephen stoned as a consequence of this in 34 AD. In fact, there is absolutely no way to find the year of Steohen's death, from Scripture, apart from it having to be some time after Passover of 29 AD, and some time before the great famine that took place in Asia Minor in the days of Claudius, which may have been in 45 AD.

The ONLY possible reason for claiming that Stephen died in 34 AD, is to prop up the theory that Jesus' death in 31 AD, occurred “at the middle of the 70th Week”, at 487 ½ years from Artaxerxes' Decree to Rebuild Jerusalem in 457 BC, and that the Jews were rejected by God from this date forward. This is done only to “prove” that their particular interpretation of this prophecy, is correct:
Dan 9:27 And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one that maketh desolate; and even unto the full end, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out upon the desolate.

However, since the Bible does NOT tell us that Jesus was baptised in 27 AD; that Jesus died in 31 AD; that Stephen was martyred in 34 AD; that Jerusalem was rebuilt in 408 BC; that Artaxerxes gave the decree in 457 BC ~ therefore, it is obvious that there is something seriously wrong with such an interpretation, and a better one must be found.

2.There is no Biblical evidence that Jesus was baptised in 27 AD. That date is based on the belief that Jesus' ministry was 3 ½ years long, which contradicts the Bible. John's gospel is the only one which mentions more than one Passover in Jesus' ministry, and he specifically mentions just 3 Passovers.

Jesus was baptised at the beginning of His ministry, probably in autumn;
He celebrated the 1st Passover in early spring, in Jerusalem, about 6 months later;
He celebrated the second Passover at the Sea of Galilee, where He performed the miracle of feeding the multitude, 1 ½ years later;
He was crucified on the 3rd Passover, 2 ½ years later.

That comes to a total of (approximately) 2 ½ years. No way can it be stretched to 3 years, much less to 3 ½ years. However, those who subscribe to this theory, claim that it proves that the Un-Named Feast of John 5:1, must have been a 4th Passover. That is making unwarranted assumptions in order to prop up one's own pet beliefs. This is indefensible. The only way to approach Scripture, is to accept it exactly as written, and mould one's beliefs accordingly. This site has set its dates in stone, according to its system of prophetic interpretation, without reference to the Bible or the calendar to authenticate them.

The truth is that the Messiah CAME at His birth, and this is proven by reference to the angels, the shepherds, the Magi, Simeon, Anna, the priests, King Herod, Zachariah, Elizabeth, and ALL JERUSALEM who, Scripture says, were awaiting the appearance of the Messiah.
Luk 2:38 And coming up at that very hour {Anna} began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to ALL WHO WERE WAITING FOR THE REDEMPTION OF JERUSALEM.

Jesus was BORN the MESSIAH, the PRINCE, according to the Bible.
Luk 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who IS Christ the Lord.

Paul tells us that “the time had fully come” at the time of Jesus' BIRTH, not at His baptism:
Gal 4:4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law.

Here are some facts to consider regarding this interesting article, which claims to have the absolute truth which hundreds of millions (billions??) of Christians past and present, have all somehow missed.
Several dogmatic statements have been made here, which can all, very simply, be shown to be untrue. In that case, this site is misleading tens of thousands of its readers, and corrections must be made.
Some of these errors are:
1.The city of Jerusalem was rebuilt in B.C. 408,
2.the coming of Messiah the Prince was fulfilled at Jesus' baptism in A.D. 27,
3.the Messiah was cut off by his crucifixion in A.D. 31,
4.the 70 weeks cut off for the Jewish people ended when the Sanhedrin officially rejected the Messiah and in evidence of it stoned Stephen in A.D. 34,
5.and finally Christ stepped into the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary to make atonement for sin in A.D. 1844.
6.When that work of cleansing the sanctuary is finished, Christ will return as promised. But there is no date given for that event.

1.There is no historical evidence that “Jerusalem was rebuilt in 408 BC.” This is a figure arrived at because it conveniently fits with preconceived interpretations of Bible prophecies, misconstrued by a false prophet. It ignores the Bible evidence in favour of this one woman's teaching. If the exiles returned to Jerusalem in 539 - 537 BC (depending on who's counting; this date is also in doubt), then why would they not rebuild Jerusalem, for another 129 – 131 years? That is insane. Over 40,000 people returned to their own land, and for 130 years they lived, studied, married, reproduced, raised families, multiplied greatly, worked, bought and sold, and worshipped in Jerusalem – under the stars? They didn't think to rebuild their houses and places of work for 130 years? No sane person could believe this.

It is unbiblical to say that Artaxerxes gave the decree to rebuild Jerusalem. Isaiah in fact, prophesied that CYRUS would give the decree, not only to rebuild the Temple, but also the city, when he released the Jews from their 70 years of exile.

Isa 44:24 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer ...
Isa 44:28 who says of CYRUS, 'He is my shepherd, and he shall fulfill all my purpose'; saying of JERUSALEM, 'SHE SHALL BE BUILT,' and of the temple, 'Your foundation shall be laid.'"

Josephus tells us that CYRUS did indeed do both these things, even though the Bible records only his decree about the Temple.

This was known to Cyrus by his reading the book which Isaiah left behind him of his prophecies; for this prophet said that God had spoken to him thus in a secret vision: "My will is, that Cyrus, whom I have appointed to be King over many and great nations, send back my people to their own land, and build my Temple." This was foretold by Isaiah 140 years before the Temple was demolished. Accordingly, when Cyrus read this, and admired the divine power, an earnest desire and ambition seized upon him to fulfil what was so written; so he called for the most eminent Jews that were in Babylon, and said to them, that he gave them leave to go back to their own country, and to rebuild their city Jerusalem, and the Temple of God, for that he would be their assistant, and that he would write to the rulers and governors that were in the neighbourhood of their country of Judea ...Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews, Bk.XI, I:2

The CYRUS CYLINDER also attests to CYRUS permitting all the captives to return to their own lands, to rebuild their cities, and restore their worship.

Haggai assures us, in the second year of return, that the people were indeed rebuilding Jerusalem even before the Temple was rebuilt, which had been commenced in the second year of their return. It is nuts to think that God would expect hundreds of thousands of His people to live without houses and buildings for 130 years. He did not criticise them for rebuilding their own dwellings, but for over-adorning their own houses while they neglected the Temple, the centre of worship.

Hag 1:1 In the 2nd year of Darius the king, in the 6th month, on the 1st day of the month, the word of the LORD came by the hand of Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest:
Hag 1:2 "Thus says the LORD of hosts: These people say the time has not yet come to rebuild the house of the LORD."
Hag 1:3 Then the word of the LORD came by the hand of Haggai the prophet,
Hag 1:4 "Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins?

Therefore, the rebuilding of Jerusalem was decreed by CYRUS, and begun almost as soon as the exiles arrived home, not 130 years later.
