MY LORD, MY GOD

Heavenly Father as I lay my head to sleep,

I thank You for the day’s memories:

Each thought, each action, the records I keep,

The accounts my Lord, which I must render to Thee.


In being Thy creation is no excuse for me,

For all my mortal inconsistencies:

The perfect creation did Thou call me,

Before the fall of the biblical adam and eve.


In my mind and my heart I try my best,

And pray dear Lord that Thou will do the rest;

Feeble mortal though I may be,

I know dear Father Thou art there for me.


Now as I awake to another day,

I thank you dear Lord for the life You saved,

And today and for every other day,

Thy commandments Dear Lord I promise to obey.


And as I prayed to Thee for Thy guiding grace,

The Angels too came to my embrace;

And it was then dear Lord that I realized,

You truly are the Father of all, including mankind.


So Father as I take my leave to live,

I know dear Lord that Thou art with me;

Guide me and guard me on this delicate path,

That eventually I may reside with Thee.
