It was the earnest plea of Christ that His followers be united in Truth (John 17:17). This Spiritual unity (John 17:5; 10:30) was to also be based on the agape Love (John 17:23, 26). However, since today all the churches have incorporated error into their doctrines with varying degrees, and hence are no longer "the pillar and ground of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15) in the eyes of our loving heavenly Father, then it becomes obvious that His true followers will not ever endeavor to engage in the ecumenical movement. In fact, they will take it as a clear sign of apostasy for any church engaged in this ungodly movement.
