Yes, Jesus was divine. But more importantly the question is: Why was He divine? Jesus was divine, not because He existed before He was born, Jesus was divine because He was the begotten Son of God from the point of Mary’s conception. God Almighty impregnated Mary when He implanted His WORD (seed/sperm) into Mary through the power of His Holy Spirit and nine month later she gave birth to the only (so) divinely begotten Son of God whom they named Jesus.
