There are four main reasons why we reject the Trinity doctrine. The first reason is because the Trinity denies the literal sonship of Christ. Without accepting the literal sonship of Christ, as sinners we will never appreciate enough the infinite risk and sacrifice that our loving Father undertook when He gave His literal only begotten son to become incarnate and die for us. We invite you to prayerfully and reflectively consider the below quotes, and see for yourselves the irreconcilable realities of what truly was at stake for your salvation with what is being promoted by the Trinity doctrine. When the realities of the real risks taken by our Loving Father when He offered His only begotten Son to save us begin to sink in, then and only then will you be ready to appreciate our hatred for that devilish teaching; the Trinity indeed represents Satan's most direct attack on the Father and His only begotten Son:
Many claim that it was impossible for Christ to be overcome by temptation. Then He could not have been placed in Adam's position; He could not have gained the victory that Adam failed to gain. If we have in any sense a more trying conflict than had Christ, then He would not be able to succor us. But our Saviour took humanity, with all its liabilities. He took the nature of man, with the possibility of yielding to temptation. We have nothing to bear which He has not endured. {Desire of Ages, p. 117.2 }
To the honor and glory of God, His beloved Son--the Surety, the Substitute--was delivered up and descended into the prison house of the grave. The new tomb enclosed Him in its rocky chambers. If one single sin had tainted His character the stone would never have been rolled away from the door of His rocky chamber, and the world with its burden of guilt would have perished. But it was only for a little while the divine Vanquisher seemed the vanquished. The serpent had bruised the heel, but Christ could not be holden by death. The stone was rolled away. The Lord Jesus walked forth from His prison house a triumphant, majestic conqueror, and proclaimed over the rent sepulcher of Joseph, "I am the resurrection and the life" (John 11:25).--Ms. 81, 1893, p. 11. (Diary entry for Sunday, July 2, 1893, Wellington, New Zealand.)
The second reason why we at WLC reject the Trinity doctrine is, because it denies the real death of Christ on the cross. If Jesus is absolutely co-equal with "the blessed and only Potentate Who only hath immortality" (1 Tim. 6:15,16), who absolutely cannot die, then Jesus did not truly die, but continued to live on some mysterious level while appearing to be dead. This would make all our professions about death and resurrection of Christ mere vanity and illusion.
Satan with his fierce temptations wrung the heart of Jesus. The Saviour could not see through the portals of the tomb. Hope did not present to Him His coming forth from the grave a conqueror, or tell Him of the Father's acceptance of the sacrifice. He feared that sin was so offensive to God that their separation was to be eternal. Christ felt the anguish which the sinner will feel when mercy shall no longer plead for the guilty race. It was the sense of sin, bringing the Father's wrath upon Him as man's substitute, that made the cup He drank so bitter, and broke the heart of the Son of God. {Desire of Ages, p. 753 }
The third reason for rejecting the Trinity is because it makes the Holy Spirit as a co-equal person who is distinct from Christ. The Trinity denies that Jesus is Himself the Comforter. The Bible, however, introduces the Holy Spirit as the glorified manifestation form of Jesus after His ascension, that enables Him to return back to be with His followers to complete the His mission started at the cross.
In describing to His disciples the office work of the Holy Spirit, Jesus sought to inspire them with the joy and hope that inspired His own heart. He rejoiced because of the abundant help He had provided for His church. The Holy Spirit was the highest of all gifts that He could solicit from His Father for the exaltation of His people. The Spirit was to be given as a regenerating agent, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail. The power of evil had been strengthening for centuries, and the submission of men to this Satanic captivity was amazing. Sin could be resisted and overcome only through the mighty agency of the third person of the Godhead, who would come with no modified energy, but in the fullness of divine power. It is the Spirit that makes effectual what has been wrought out by the world's Redeemer. It is by the Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine nature. Christ has given His Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and impress His own character upon His church. {Desire of Ages, p. 671 }
The human did not take the place of the divine, nor the divine the human. This is the mystery of godliness. The two expressions 'human" and "divine" were, in Christ, closely and inseparably one, and yet they had a distinct individuality. Though Christ humbled Himself to become man, the Godhead was His own. Deity could not be lost while He stood faithful and true to His loyalty. {5Bible Commentary 1129.3}
The fourth reason for World's Last Chance rejection of the Trinity is because it destroys the sanctuary truth. It will not make much sense to a Trinitarian to believe in the Investigative Judgment that is going on in the heavenly Sanctuary. How can equal entities plead with each other? If God the Father and God the Son are equal in every sense of the word, on what basis does God the Son plead with God the Father?
These are the main reasons why we reject the Trinity doctrine. We plead with His people that they would come into grips with this most vital subject. How can we relate to our loving heavenly Father through such a devilish teaching, is a question which each one of us has to give an answer for.
