slices whole wheat bread
1
ripe banana, sliced into thin circles
2-4 tbsp
peanut butter or any other nut butter
1-2 tbsp
honey or molasses (optional)
chopped dates or raisins (optional)
Description
The secret to the popularity of this sandwich is toasting the bread.
Instructions
1. Remove crust from a sandwich loaf slices. 2. Spread some peanut butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread. Top with banana slices, drizzle with honey and sprinkle chopped dried dates or raisins. Sprinkle very sparsely with ground fennel. top with the other slice and press together firmly. 3. Heat a skillet. Grill the sandwich until golden brown on each side, about 2 minutes per side. 4. Cut sandwich diagonally into diamonds and serve with fresh fruit.You can dip the sandwich is warm nut milk if you like. It is mouthwatering!
