The Power of the Mighty One: Finding Hope When Things Seem Impossible
Psalm 145 is a special part of the Bible. It is the only one actually titled “A Psalm of Praise.” In these twenty-one verses, King David describes how great and wonderful Yahuwah is. In verses 4 and 11, David makes a very important point. He says that every generation should tell the next about the amazing things Yahuwah has done. David knew that for faith to stay strong, we have to keep talking about the miracles of the past.
Sadly, many people today have forgotten this. We live in a world that focuses on our own problems and overlooks Yahuwah’s true power. Unlike people in the past who lived by the stories of Yahuwah’s miraculous interventions, many people today feel disconnected. When things go wrong, we often try to fix them ourselves or look to the world for help. We forget to rely on the “Mighty One of Jacob.” To address this, we need to understand why hard times happen and how Yahuwah restores what we have lost.
Why Do We Face “Impossible” Problems?
In Isaiah chapter 49, there is a profound question. It asks whether a person can take back what a powerful enemy has stolen or whether a prisoner can be set free from a strong army. In our everyday lives, the answer is usually “no.” When a strong enemy—such as a serious illness, a huge debt, or someone trying to hurt us—takes something away, it often feels like it’s gone forever. But Yahuwah gives us a different answer. He promises to fight for us to restore what was stolen and save our children.
You might wonder why a loving God would allow things to get so bad in the first place. Often, Yahuwah lets a situation become “impossible” so that when He fixes it, everyone knows it was Him. If we could fix it ourselves, we would take the credit. But when only a miracle can save us, it shows the whole world that Yahuwah is our Savior and Redeemer.

He uses the name “Mighty One of Jacob” for a reason. Jacob was a man who endured many struggles. He lost his home and believed he had lost his son, Joseph, forever. But Yahuwah brought Joseph back and saved the whole family. This name reminds us that Yahuwah is an expert at restoring what has been stolen.
Real Examples of Yahuwah’s Power
To help our faith grow, we need to look at the “mighty acts” written in the Bible. These aren’t just old stories; they are proof of how Yahuwah works today.
1. Crossing the Red Sea
The story of the Exodus is the best example of a hopeless situation. The Israelites were trapped. In front of them was a deep sea, and behind them was the terrifying Egyptian army with chariots. They had nowhere to run. It looked like the end. But that was exactly when Yahuwah showed His power. He split the sea in half and made a path of dry land. This miracle wasn’t just about escape; it showed that Yahuwah is the master of nature. It teaches us that even when every door is closed, Yahuwah can make a way where there is no way.
2. The Valley of Dry Bones
In Ezekiel 37, there is a vision of a valley full of dry bones. The people felt like those bones—dead, dried up, and without hope. They said, “Our hope is lost.” They didn’t just feel sad; they felt it was over. But Yahuwah didn’t just give them a pep talk. He breathed life into those bones, and they stood up as a giant army. This story in the Bible tells us that even if your dream or your hope feels “dead,” Yahuwah can breathe life back into it.
3. Protecting Jerusalem from an Army
A long time ago, a king named Hezekiah was in serious trouble. A massive Assyrian army surrounded his city. The enemy leaders laughed at him, saying no god could save them. It looked like the city was about to fall. Hezekiah prayed, and in just one night, Yahuwah took care of the entire enemy army without the Israelites having to fight at all. This shows us that Yahuwah can solve a problem we’ve been worrying about for years in one night.

How to Wake Up Our Faith
When we stop thinking about these stories, our faith gets weak. We start to think that our problems are “too big” or that Yahuwah doesn’t care. This is why David said we must tell these stories to our children. When we talk about what Yahuwah has done, we aren’t just talking about history. We are reminding our hearts that He can do it again.
Tragedies and hard times are often a “wake-up call.” They are painful, but they force us to stop relying on ourselves. In those moments when we feel completely helpless, the Mighty One of Jacob steps in. Every time He restores what was stolen—our happiness, our assets, our health, or our peace of mind—it becomes a new story to tell. These stories fuel our faith. They remind us that the God of the Bible is the same God who is with us right now.
Trusting the Promises
We need to recognize that the power of Yahuwah didn’t remain in the past. The promises in Isaiah about setting prisoners free are still true today. If you are in a situation where something important has been taken from you and the “enemy” seems too strong to fight, don’t give up. The Bible says we should stand still and wait for Yahuwah to move.
Psalm 145:13 says that Yahuwah’s kingdom lasts forever. This means His power doesn’t weaken over time. He is just as strong today as He was when He opened the Red Sea or brought down the walls of Jericho.
We have to make an effort to think about these things. We should talk about them at dinner, tell our friends, and think about them when we are scared. By doing this, we stop doubting His promises and start to see our “impossible” problems as a stage where Yahuwah can show off His greatness.

Summary
The Mighty One of Jacob wants us to have more than just a little faith. He wants us to have a deep trust that cannot be shaken. This trust comes from looking at what He has already done. As David wrote, Yahuwah is always fair and kind in all He does.
If we want to have the same strong faith people had in the past, we have to start remembering Yahuwah’s mighty acts. Let’s view our troubles through the lens of the Bible. Let’s look forward to the moment when Yahuwah steps in to save us. When He performs a miracle in our lives, it should awaken our hearts and show everyone that Yahuwah never fails. No matter what you are going through today, remember that His history of winning is your guarantee for the future.

The Power of the Mighty One
[Verse 1]
We tell the stories of Your hand
To every soul across the land
The miracles of long ago
Are seeds of faith that start to grow
Your mighty acts we will proclaim
Yahuwah, we bless Your name
[Verse 2]
When enemies have stolen all
And we are backed against the wall
You let the world see we are weak
So only for Your help we seek
The victory is Yours alone
Yahuwah, make Your power known
[Chorus]
Mighty One of Jacob, be near
In Your presence, we lose our fear
You make a way where there is none
Until the final fight is won
Our Hope, our Savior, and our King
Yahuwah, to You we sing
[Verse 3]
You split the deep and raging sea
To set Your captive children free
You breathe upon the valley floor
And dry bones live and breathe once more
No grave can hold what You restore
Yahuwah, whom we adore
[Bridge]
One night can change the battle’s end
On Your great strength we can depend
Your kingdom stands forever sure
Your promises will still endure
The God of old is here today
Yahuwah, lead us in Your way
[Chorus]
Mighty One of Jacob, be near
In Your presence, we lose our fear
You make a way where there is none
Until the final fight is won
Our Hope, our Savior, and our King
Yahuwah, to You we sing
[Outro]
Our history is in Your hands
By Your great mercy, we shall stand
You are the God who never fails
Your love, Yahuwah, now prevails
Yahuwah now prevails
