The error in WLC’s former interpretation of Revelation 17 stemmed from our adoption of the historicist school of prophetic interpretation, which led us to project the prophecy’s fulfillment far beyond its original first-century context and to apply its symbols to events and powers that arose many centuries later. We now recognize this as a fundamental misreading of the prophecy. Revelation 17 must instead be understood within the partial preterist framework, which recognizes that its principal fulfillment belonged to the first-century generation to whom the book of Revelation was given. Consequently, the beast, the seven heads, the woman, and the prophetic events described in Revelation 17 were not predictions awaiting fulfillment in later centuries, as WLC formerly taught, but rather had their primary fulfillment in the historical circumstances of the first-century Roman world and the approaching judgment of Jerusalem. Our error, therefore, was not merely an incorrect identification of particular prophetic symbols, but the adoption of an interpretive system that displaced a first-century fulfillment with a much later one. |
There are moments in the history of a ministry when integrity requires something more difficult than defending a position. It requires confession.
World’s Last Chance (WLC) has reached such a moment concerning its former interpretation of Revelation 17.
We were wrong.
Our interpretation of Revelation 17, first promoted publicly in early 2006 and subsequently abandoned in early 2016, was held and taught for a little over ten years. That is a long time to maintain a prophetic interpretation—and therefore a long time for the consequences of an error to accumulate.
We now openly acknowledge that this interpretation was faulty.
We confess this failure before our readers, before those who trusted our teaching, and most importantly, before Father Yahuwah.
We are not attempting to minimize the seriousness of this mistake. Nor do we want to hide behind the fact that the position was eventually abandoned. The truth is that WLC publicly promoted an erroneous interpretation for more than a decade. That was a significant failure, and it dented the ministry’s credibility big time.
We believe our readers deserve an honest account of what happened and, even more importantly, what we have learned from it.
More Than Ten Years of Error
In early 2006, WLC began publicly promoting its interpretation of Revelation 17. Then, in early 2016, WLC abandoned the interpretation. That means the ministry had embraced and promoted this particular understanding for a little over ten years before recognizing that it was wrong.

The chronology matters.
In early 2006, WLC began publicly promoting its interpretation of Revelation 17. At the time, we believed that our understanding of the prophetic passage was sound. We did not present it merely as an interesting possibility. We taught it with conviction.
For more than ten years, that interpretation remained part of WLC’s prophetic understanding.
Then, in early 2016, WLC abandoned the interpretation.
That means the ministry had embraced and promoted this particular understanding for a little over ten years before recognizing that it was wrong.
That duration makes the mistake more sobering—not less.
A mistake that survives for a few weeks can be corrected relatively easily. A mistaken prophetic interpretation that becomes embedded in a ministry’s teaching for more than a decade can influence countless readers, shape other conclusions, and become woven into the ministry’s public identity.
That is precisely why we believe this history should be acknowledged rather than concealed.
We Must Say What Needs to Be Said
WLC has always encouraged people to examine teachings carefully and to test religious claims against Scripture.
We have challenged people not to accept a doctrine merely because a respected teacher presents it confidently.
We have urged readers to search the Scriptures.
Those principles are right.
But they must apply to us as well.
If WLC demands that others examine their beliefs while refusing to examine its own, then we would be guilty of hypocrisy.
Paul wrote:
“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:21
The command is comprehensive.
Prove all things.
That includes WLC’s teachings.
That includes WLC’s prophetic interpretations.
And that includes teachings that WLC itself once defended vigorously.
How Could We Have Been Wrong for So Long?
This question deserves an honest answer.
How could a ministry dedicated to studying Scripture hold a mistaken interpretation for more than ten years?
The answer is uncomfortable but important:
Sincerity does not guarantee correctness.
We genuinely believed our interpretation was correct.
But sincere conviction is not the same thing as divine confirmation.
A person can sincerely misunderstand Scripture.
A ministry can sincerely misunderstand Scripture.
And a ministry can become increasingly confident in an interpretation simply because it has invested years in developing and defending it.
That is one of the dangers of prophetic interpretation.
Once an interpretation becomes part of a larger theological framework, every new passage may be unconsciously read through that framework. Instead of allowing Scripture to correct the interpretation, the interpreter can begin making Scripture fit the interpretation.
That is precisely the danger we must guard against.
Revelation Is Not a License for Overconfidence
There is a tremendous difference between studying prophecy with conviction and claiming certainty where Scripture has not provided certainty. Our former interpretation of Revelation 17 crossed that line.

The book of Revelation demands humility.
Its symbolic language is profound. Its imagery is interconnected. Its prophetic descriptions require careful comparison with the rest of Scripture.
But there is a tremendous difference between studying prophecy with conviction and claiming certainty where Scripture has not provided certainty.

We treated an interpretation as established when it was not sufficiently established by the biblical evidence.
That was our blunder.
And because we were teaching on behalf of a ministry, the consequences extended beyond our own private understanding.
Others trusted us.
Some accepted our interpretation because WLC taught it.
Some may have defended it because they believed WLC had thoroughly examined the matter.
For that, we are deeply sorry.
The Early 2006 Adoption and the Early 2016 Abandonment
The historical sequence should therefore be remembered clearly:
Early 2006 — WLC publicly promoted the Revelation 17 interpretation.
Early 2016 — WLC abandoned the interpretation.
More than ten years — The erroneous interpretation remained part of WLC’s public teaching.
We do not mention these dates to dramatize our failure.
We mention them because honesty requires historical accuracy.
A ministry that acknowledges only the correction, not the decade in which the error was taught, is telling only half the story.
We want to tell the whole story.
We were wrong in 2006.
We remained wrong for more than ten years.
And in 2016, we finally recognized the error and abandoned the position.
That is the history.
The Most Painful Lesson: Credibility Can Be Lost Quickly
Credibility is not built by pretending never to make mistakes. It is built by telling the truth when mistakes are discovered.

The damage caused by an error is not always proportional to the number of words in the original teaching.
A single prophetic interpretation can become highly consequential when it is taught confidently and repeatedly.
And when a ministry eventually reverses itself, readers naturally ask:
“If WLC was wrong about this for more than ten years, how can we know that WLC is right about anything else?”
That is a legitimate question.
We cannot answer it by demanding trust.
We cannot answer it by saying, “But look at how much other material we have published.”
And we certainly cannot answer it by pretending that the mistake was insignificant.
The Revelation 17 error did damage to WLC’s credibility.
We acknowledge that.
But there is another side to credibility.
Credibility is not built by pretending never to make mistakes.
It is built by telling the truth when mistakes are discovered.
We Publicly Abandoned the Error
The abandonment of the interpretation in early 2016 was therefore important.
WLC did not continue defending the position simply because it had been taught for more than ten years.
We recognized that the interpretation could no longer be maintained.
And we abandoned it.
But we believe there is an additional step that must accompany abandoning an error:
Repentance.
It is not enough to change one’s position intellectually.
When a ministry has publicly taught something that was wrong, it must also humble itself before Father Yahuwah and acknowledge the failure.
We Repented Before Father Yahuwah
Our deepest concern is not the embarrassment caused to WLC.

Scripture gives us this assurance:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
— 1 John 1:9
We choose confession rather than concealment.
We choose repentance rather than self-justification.
We choose humility rather than pride.
What Have We Learned?
This painful episode has taught WLC several lessons that we never want to forget.
1. Never confuse conviction with certainty
We may feel absolutely convinced about an interpretation and still be mistaken.
Conviction is not proof.
The fact that we have studied something extensively does not guarantee that we have understood it correctly.
Our confidence must never exceed the strength of the evidence.
2. Prophetic interpretation requires extraordinary humility
Prophecy is not an area in which we should casually make absolute claims.
Where Scripture is explicit, we should speak explicitly.
Where Scripture strongly supports a conclusion, we may say so.
Where the evidence is uncertain, we should acknowledge the uncertainty.
And where Scripture does not reveal the answer, we should be willing to say:
“We do not know.”
3. Ten years of teaching does not make an error true
Truth is determined by reality and, in matters of biblical doctrine, by the testimony of Scripture—not by longevity, popularity, or institutional confidence.

This may be one of the most important lessons.
An interpretation does not become true because it has been taught for ten years.
Nor does it become true because thousands of people have accepted it.
Nor does it become true because a respected ministry has published it repeatedly.
Truth is determined by reality and, in matters of biblical doctrine, by the testimony of Scripture—not by longevity, popularity, or institutional confidence.
4. A ministry must remain teachable
Once a ministry becomes psychologically invested in its own teachings, correction can become threatening.
That must never happen.
WLC must remain willing to examine its teachings—even teachings that have been held for many years.
The willingness to change one’s mind when confronted with compelling evidence is not weakness.
It is intellectual and spiritual integrity.
5. Reputation must never become more important than truth
This is perhaps the hardest lesson of all.
Once a ministry has publicly committed itself to an interpretation, abandoning that interpretation can be humiliating.
But protecting our reputation is not our calling.
Serving Father Yahuwah is our calling.
If preserving WLC’s reputation requires defending an interpretation that we know is wrong, then we must sacrifice the reputation.
Truth comes first.
The $1,000,000 Challenge Must Apply to Us Too
WLC has issued a $1,000,000 challenge in connection with its broader claims.
The purpose of such a challenge is to emphasize that important claims should be open to serious examination and testing.
But the Revelation 17 experience teaches us an important principle:
The standard of examination must apply to WLC too.
We cannot demand evidence from others while exempting ourselves.
We cannot tell others to question assumptions while protecting our own assumptions.
We cannot insist that claims be tested while treating our established teachings as untouchable.
If WLC asks others to follow the evidence wherever it leads, then WLC must do the same.
Even when the evidence leads us to admit:
“We were wrong.”
That is not a weakness.
It is the only intellectually honest position.
To Those Who Lost Confidence in WLC
Trust cannot be commanded. It must be earned. And if WLC has damaged someone’s confidence through this mistake, we accept responsibility. To those whom we disappointed, we say: We are sorry.

We understand why some readers became disappointed with WLC.
We understand why some became skeptical.
We understand why some may have concluded that a ministry that could maintain an erroneous interpretation for more than ten years should no longer be trusted automatically.
We cannot demand that those readers immediately restore their confidence.
Trust cannot be commanded.
It must be earned.
And if WLC has damaged someone’s confidence through this mistake, we accept responsibility.
To those whom we disappointed, we say:
We are sorry.
We are sorry that we taught the error.
We are sorry that we taught it so confidently.
We are sorry that it remained in our teaching for more than ten years.
And we are sorry for the confusion and disappointment that followed.
We Do Not Claim Infallibility
The Revelation 17 episode has also forced us to confront something every ministry must remember:
WLC is not inspired.
Father Yahuwah’s Word is inspired.
WLC is not.
Therefore, WLC must never be placed on the same level as Scripture.
Our readers should search the Scriptures.
They should test our claims.
They should question our interpretations.
They should reject anything we teach that cannot withstand biblical examination.
If our readers discover that WLC is wrong, we hope they will have the courage to tell us.
We would rather be corrected than flattered.
Our Commitment Going Forward
We want this failure to make WLC: more humble, not less confident; more careful, not more fearful; more willing to listen, not more defensive; more rigorous in Scripture, not more dependent on tradition; and more willing to admit uncertainty when Scripture does not provide certainty.

The early 2006 adoption and early 2016 abandonment of our Revelation 17 interpretation will remain a sobering chapter in WLC’s history.
But perhaps it can also become constructive.
We want this failure to make WLC:
more humble, not less confident;
more careful, not more fearful;
more willing to listen, not more defensive;
more rigorous in Scripture, not more dependent on tradition;
and more willing to admit uncertainty when Scripture does not provide certainty.
We cannot change what happened between 2006 and 2016.
We cannot erase the years during which the faulty interpretation was taught.
But we can learn from those years.
And we can refuse to repeat the same mistake.
Truth Is More Important Than WLC
Ultimately, this is what we want our readers to understand.
WLC is not the standard of truth.
Father Yahuwah’s Word is.
WLC can make mistakes.
WLC has made mistakes.
And if we remain faithful to our stated principles, WLC will continue to correct mistakes whenever they are discovered.
Our credibility should not rest upon the claim that we have never been wrong.
It should rest upon our willingness to be honest when we are wrong.
The Revelation 17 episode humbled us.
It embarrassed us.
It damaged our credibility.
But perhaps Father Yahuwah can use even our failures to teach us something valuable.
Pride says, “Protect the ministry.”
Humility says, “Protect the truth.”
Pride says, “Never admit you were wrong.”
Humility says, “Confess your error.”
Pride says, “Your reputation must survive.”
Humility says, “Father Yahuwah’s honor matters more.”
And so we choose humility.
Our Final Confession

May we never place our reputation above truth. May we never place our interpretations above Scripture. May we never become so committed to a position that we cannot abandon it when it is proven wrong. And may we always remember that a ministry’s greatest strength is not the appearance of perfection. Just to clarify one point from the lyrics: the reference to the **million-dollar challenge** was not a reference to a future financial challenge or to someone giving a million dollars to WLC. It referred specifically to the **million-dollar Lunar-Solar calendar challenge** that WLC created after accepting the Lunar Sabbath, challenging anyone who could demonstrate that the luni-solar calendar was biblically and historically wrong.
As for the future, we leave the provision of WLC—and everything connected with its mission—entirely in the hands of Father Yahuwah. If He desires to provide abundantly, we trust that He will open the doors in His own time and for His own purposes. Our prayer is that whatever He provides will be used faithfully to proclaim His truth and bring glory to His name.

Nothing in this world are hidden from Yahuwah that he will not make known, hear or do not see! Even the humble servant Daniel couldn`t understand the grand visons he saw. Twice it was opened to his understanding by a minister of Yah, sent to him. Dan.7:16; Dan. 8:16. Daniel`s experience, is not for his time only, this reality is for all who want to know Yahuwah`s secrets with an humble open heart. All through Biblical history, when light or similar situations as what WLC faces, comes along: scoffers, sceptics, character of unbelief and uncertainty, self-examination and studying of the Word of Yah etc., It depends whether the seeds planted are well rooted on the fertile soil/soul and bearing fruit unto salvation not of self only, but of others as well.
This desert experience we are facing, let`s us take hold of the rope of salvation let down from heaven, that not even our efforts to sustain self, can provide for us, but know we see that Yahuwah is our Provider. The Ark had everything prepared to keep it afloat, but no rudder. That was Yah in control! So it is with us. He steers the WLC vessel safely into port, the little dinghy I travel with all that “I” may do, has been tossed and nearly overcome by waves strong and fierce, but I have to let Him steer with trust. Even so with truth that I sometimes do not understand, and has to re-examine myself against the Word.
Isaiah 30:20-21 are reality in these days for us as it was for Israel in the days of Isaiah. Except for bread and water, we have the surety of ministering angels that will guide on our way! And it will be known unto us that they are leading. As with David we can sing: Open thee our eyes that we may see wonderful things out of thine Word.

Hello WLC and everyone happy sabbath🙌. It’s a sabbath in my region today Zambia 🇿🇲 to be specific. I’ve come across this touching and uplifting concern which isn’t weakness or an embarrassment it is the spirit of YHWH that has even made this realization and delay isn’t denial coz he has made you realize and learn from this and so have I also learnt a lot even through this humiliating moment keeping the fellowship and taking this and having reflected it and applying to myself coz there are somethings I feel right and sincere about but this has helped me to empty myself of me and let scripture interpret itself and not our assumptions nor what we feel and what is acceptable by many.
It’s my testimony that this is a very illuminating moment where truth has been acknowledged above keeping reputations and as WLC has always been encouraging each believer to study scripture for oneself I’m learning to see the creator for who he is and his creation and thanks to Yahuwah through WLC he reached me and I’m now a luni solar sabbath keeper and a Unitarian.

Yahuwah sometimes allows us to recognize our mistakes years after we first embraced them, so that we may learn humility, examine everything by His Word, and be willing to correct our understanding when the evidence requires it.
Our confession concerning Revelation 17 is not merely about correcting one prophetic interpretation. It is also about repentance, accountability, and the willingness to acknowledge publicly when we have taught something that was not correct. We pray that this experience will remind all of us that no ministry, teacher, or individual is beyond the need for continual correction and growth. Our ultimate loyalty must always be to the Scriptures and to truth—not to our past conclusions.
As to whether another article will follow, yes, we anticipate sharing further material as Yahuwah opens the way. There are additional lessons connected with this experience that we believe may be helpful to explain, particularly concerning how we arrived at the historicist interpretation, why we now understand Revelation 17 differently, and what we have learned about testing prophetic interpretations against the biblical evidence.
