If Yahushua is NOT Yahuwah and Christians go on saying that he is, then something very profound is lost in theology. To say that Yahuwah died on the cross is to miss the suffering love the Father had for his tortured Son agonizing on the cross. It would have been easier for Yahuwah to offer himself than his only Son, Yahushua.
I believe the story of Abraham and Isaac is in the Bible for a reason. Yahuwah wanted to test Abraham to see if his faith was strong enough to obey him, even if it meant giving up his son, Isaac, as a sacrifice on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem. The story reveals the anguish of a dedicated father who is choosing between his son and Yahuwah. It was a hard choice. Abraham was not asked to sacrifice himself! His choice would be more problematic than self-sacrifice! Yahuwah never intended to let Abraham go through with it. It was a test of love as well as of faith. At the last moment, Yahuwah provided a ram for sacrifice in place of Abraham’s son. Abraham was to call that place on Mount Moriah “YAHUWAH WILL PROVIDE.”
So, Abraham called the name of the place “Yahuwah will provide” as it is said to this day, “On the Mount of Yahuwah it shall be provided” (Gen 22:14)
What Yahuwah did not require of Abraham, he would fulfill in the same place at a later time in history, to show his love for the world by giving up his beloved Son, Yahushua, to die on the cross for the salvation of a sinful world: “In this the love of Yahuwah was made manifest among us, that Yahuwah sent his only son into the world” (1 Jn 4:9). Rather than Yahuwah giving up himself to death, the heavenly Father gave up his Son to die on the cross. Yahuwah required more of himself than he required of Abraham.

Did Yahuwah give Himself or His only son?

Like the test that was given on Moriah’s high crest,
Father Abraham stood to endure the great test.
For Yahuwah demanded the life of his boy,
But he spared the young Isaac to give them back joy.
Now Yahushua is given to cancel our guilt,
By the blood of the Son that was willingly spilt.
[Verse 2]
It is harder to yield up your child to the blade,
Than to offer yourself when the payment is made.
So Yahuwah looked down on the agony borne,
When the flesh of Yahushua was beaten and torn.
Not the Father himself but the Son took the blow,
To defeat all the power of darkness below.
[Chorus]
Sing a song of triumph for the victory won,
By Yahuwah the King and Yahushua the Son!
For the love of the Father is proven and deep,
While the angels above look directly and weep.
Let the shout of the righteous resound through the land,
For the plan of salvation is mighty and grand!

On the mount of the Lord it was truly foretold,
That a greater surrender would later unfold.
From Yahuwah, the love of the cosmos was sent,
When the veil of the temple was violently rent.
And Yahushua was lifted to die on the tree,
To deliver the sinner and set the soul free.

If we claim that the Father himself felt the grave,
Then we miss the true depth of the rescue he gave.
For Yahuwah was watching in sorrow and pain,
As Yahushua was broken and ruthlessly slain.
It was suffering love for the child of his heart,
That tore heaven and earth so completely apart.

Now the battle is over, the triumph is clear,
And Yahuwah has conquered our sorrow and fear!
With Yahushua reigning in glory on high,
We will lift up our voices and shout to the sky!
For the work is completed, the victory won,
By the love of the Father who gave us his Son!
