Hid with Christ in Yahuwah

The secret to transformation is to be hid with Christ in Yahuwah. This is the provision Yahuwah has graciously provided so that the believer is accounted as perfectly keeping the divine law.

When most Christians think of the good news of the gospel, they think of the priceless gift of forgiveness, where the believer’s sins are blotted out by the blood of Christ and he stands before Yahuwah as though he had never sinned. But Yahuwah’s gift of salvation is far more than some divine ink pot that sprinkles the blood of Christ over the individual’s record in the Book of Life.

Is obedience necessary?

Revelation clearly sets forth the conditions for eternal life: “Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” (Revelation 22:14, KJV)

Satan knows the conditions for eternal life or eternal death have never changed: obey and live; disobey and die. He has created confusion over the issue of the divine law. On the one hand, he has led many devout Christians to believe that, in this life, they must be sinless in order to be saved. Because they sincerely want to honor Yah and do what is right, it is very easy for this class of Christian to become bogged down in a quagmire of works. Since Yahuwah is holy and they know they’re not, they make ever more self-denying efforts to be holy, as though self-denial is the key to living godly lives.

The other class of Christians, just as sincere, goes to the other extreme. They see the impossibility of any fallen human being sinless. Therefore, since it is impossible, they insist that Yahuwah no longer requires obedience. For this class of Christian, Satan has prepared the lie that the law was “nailed to the cross” and is no longer binding.

one hand and the other

Sinless to be Saved   --------------------------------------------------------------  Law is no longer Binding

Both groups are in error. John was shown the overcomers and he states unequivocally that they were keeping the divine law: “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of Yah, and the faith of Yahushua.” (See Revelation 14:12.)

The answer is Christ!

The answer to this seemingly impossible dilemma is Yahushua. When you choose to accept the gift of salvation, you are offered more than forgiveness for past sins. Yahushua’s sinless life of perfect obedience to the law of Yah is also credited to your account. Paul wrote:

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of Yahuwah. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in Yah. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. (See Colossians 3:1-4.)

prayer

Being hid with Christ in Yah. This is the only way anyone can hope to be accounted a law-abider. And, like the blood-covering for sin, this is also a gift of grace, freely available to all who will accept it by faith. To be hid with Christ in Yah means to be so fully submerged by faith in the atoning sacrifice, that our sins are covered by Yahushua’s righteousness. And this isn’t just for sins past. It is also for those sins and imperfections and failings that are the natural result of having a fallen nature.

All who have hidden themselves with Christ in Yah will, at Yahushua’s return, be gifted with a higher nature. Then, and only then, will they live completely sinless lives.

Paul told the Corinthians:

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of Yah; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. (See 1 Corinthians 15:50-53.)

How it’s done

obedient childDavid was a sinner. He was a polygamist, a liar, an adulterer, and a murderer. And yet, despite his many sins, Scripture says he was a man after Yah’s own heart. He was a man after Yah’s own heart because he loved the law of Yah.

The law of Yahuwah is not some big list of dos-and-don’ts. It is a transcript of His very character of love! David realized this and sang, “O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.” (Psalm 119:97, KJV) If you want to be a person after Yah’s own heart, delighting in His law (His character), you need to spend time in His word. It’s that simple and it’s a choice. “The law of Yahuwah is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of Yahuwah is sure, making wise the simple.” (Psalm 19:7, NKJV)

When you choose to spend time in Yah’s word, His spirit transforms you. Your Creator becomes your re-Creator.

I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. (Ezekiel 36:25-27, NKJV)

The more time you spend in Yah’s word and in contemplation of His character, the more you will see to admire and love. And, when you reach the point of desiring nothing more than to be at oneness with Yahuwah, He accepts this as your highest effort. The sins and failings that are inevitable with a fallen nature are not counted against you. A wonderful transaction occurs where the perfect life of Yahushua is credited to your account. This is what Paul was describing when he wrote:

But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom Yah imputeth righteousness without works, saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom Yahuwah will not impute sin. (Romans 4:5-8)

Yahushua’s blood covers our sins. But what is more, his perfection covers our imperfection. His perfect adherence to the law and will of Yahuwah covers our imperfections so that Yahuwah views us as perfectly keeping His commandments despite the fact that this side of glorification, we shall always fail in some point or other due to having fallen natures.

It is this indescribable gift that allows our names to be retained in the Lamb’s book of life. With Yahushua’s perfect obedience credited to our account, we shall be given the right to enter into the city and eat from the tree of life, while “there shall enter into it none unclean thing, neither whatsoever worketh abomination or lies: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” (1599 Geneva Bible)
