Advent Christian

The Advent Christian Church grew out of the Millerite Movement of the 1840s, a time period during which Heaven restored many lost and long forgotten truths.  As with other denominations that emerged from the Millerite Movement, Advent Christians have laid aside many of the errors which still entwine the beliefs of other denominations.  As such, they have a wealth of Biblical truth.  Still more, they have the spiritual maturity to grant their members the religious liberty to believe, study and follow the Scriptures according to their personal convictions of conscience, as long as it is founded upon the Bible.

Nevertheless, Heaven’s command to go out of Babylon exempts no denomination or organized religion.  Advent Christians have two basic errors that, in turn, bring other errors with them.  These errors keep them from the fullness of Heaven’s truths.

  1. Although the Millerites and the early Adventists (those looking for the soon return of Yahushua) were non-trinitarian, Advent Christians have, over the years, come to accept the doctrine of a triune godhead.  The subject of the trinity can be confusing because Scripture repeatedly refers to the “Holy Spirit” and its work on human hearts.  However, the trinity is a concept that comes straight from paganism.

The Bible makes plain that Yahushua, while born of a virgin, is a human being - not a diety.

The Bible declares: “Hear, O Israel: Yahuwah our Eloah is one!”  (Deuteronomy 6:4)  The marginal rendering is: “Yahuwah is our Eloah, Yahuwah alone (that is, the only one).”  The Geneva Bible translates this text: “Hear, O Israel: Yahuwah our Eloah is Yahuwah only.”  There is only one true God (mighty one) and that is Yahuwah alone.  For this reason, the first commandment states: “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.”  (Exodus 20:3)

  2. Advent Christians worship on Sunday, the first day of the Gregorian week rather than the divinely appointed day of worship, the seventh-day Sabbath [lunar Sabbath], calculated by the luni-solar calendar of Creation.  The assumption that the seventh-day Sabbath as well as all of Yahuwah’s holy days listed in Leviticus 23 were only for the Jews, is incorrect.  Scripture repeatedly asserts that all of Yahuwah’s holy days are to “be a Law forever in your generations and in all your dwellings.”  (Leviticus 23:14, Geneva Bible).

Those who love their Maker, love to remember the priceless gift of Yahuwah’s only Son, given to save sinners.  Because Advent Christians have set aside the Biblically mandated anniversaries of salvation history, they instead observe Christmas and Easter.  These pagan holidays have their roots in ancient Babylon and are forbidden in Scripture.  Some Advent Christians of today also observe Lent as a spiritual preparation for Easter.  Lent originated as the mourning period for Tammuz that the Bible expressly denounces as an abomination:

Again he said also unto me, Turn thee again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.  And he caused me to enter into the entry of the gate of the Lord’s house, which was toward the North: and behold, there sat women mourning for Tammuz.  Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Turn thee again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.  (Ezekiel 8:13-15, Geneva Bible)

  3. Advent Christians teach that the redeemed will inherit Heaven. Scripture, however, teaches that immortality in the earth made new is the reward of the saints.
Yahuwah invites His faithful Advent Christian children to lay aside all error and step into the fullness of Heaven’s truth and knowledge.
