Millions of people who love Yahuwah and long for the return of Yahushua belong to one of the hundreds of denominations that form the Baptist fellowship of believers. In a time of “moral relativism,” Baptists stand courageously for the truth, unafraid of remaining firm for their beliefs in the face of ridicule and “political correctness.”
Yahuwah loves His Baptist children. He yearns to have an even closer relationship with them. The following errors are commonly held by most Baptist denominations. These doctrinal errors separate Baptists from true spiritual closeness with the Father.
- A dearly held belief among Baptists is the doctrine of eternal security – the belief that once a person is saved, he is always saved. The problem with such a doctrine is that it denies the very freedom for which Yahushua died to insure all would have: freedom of choice. The fall guaranteed death for every soul. Yahushua’s death gave every child of Adam a second chance to choose obedience and life or disobedience and death. Yahuwah is a lover of liberty. That freedom of choice, purchased with the blood of Yah’s Son, is not taken away at the moment of conversion. In support of this error, Baptists teach that although Judas was present at the founding of the church, he was always a son of the devil. Scripture denies this, stating instead that Judas fell “by transgression.” (See Acts 1:25.)
- Baptists are Trinitarians. While Scripture does repeatedly refer to the Holy Spirit, it also clearly denies a triune godhead, declaring instead: “Hear, O Israel: Yahuwah our Eloah, Yahuwah is one!” (Deuteronomy 6:4) The doctrine of a three-in-one godhead originated in paganism, not Scripture. The Bible makes plain that Yahushua, while born of a virgin, is a human being - not a diety.
- Baptists teach a pre-tribulation rapture: the idea that the saints will be taken to Heaven before the time of trouble. Throughout holy history, however, Yahusha repeatedly demonstrates His power to save His people through tribulation, not out of it. From Noah in the ark, to the Israelites in Egypt, to Daniel in the lion’s den and countless others, Yah saves His people in the midst of trials. Furthermore, Scripture itself expressly states: “You will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake . . . but he who endures to the end shall be saved.” (See Matthew 24:9-14.) It is for this very reason that Yahuwah commands all to flee Babylon so that they will not receive of her plagues during the great time of tribulation.
- Baptists teach the immortality of the soul. Such a belief contradicts Scripture, which declares: “The living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6)
Immortality, natural and underived, is the sole prerogative of the Creator: “[Yahuwah] is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality.” (1 Timothy 6:15, 16)
- Baptists believe in an eternally burning hell. Scripture, however, declares that death, not eternal life in torment, is the reward of all who continue in rebellion against Heaven: “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of Yah is eternal life through Yahushua the anointed our Master.” (See Romans 6:23.)
Yahuwah urges all Baptists to flee unscriptural errors and accept the truths that alone will fulfill their hearts’ longings.
