Do you know what's going to happen?

The promise of Yahushua’s return is the blessed hope that has motivated missionaries, strengthened martyrs, and inspired countless believers through the ages.

Sadly, many believers have been given incorrect information regarding the events surrounding the Saviour’s return.

Studies have shown that people who are shy actually have a harder time reading body language. Consequently, they feel more anxiety when interacting with others because they do not know what to expect. If you do not know what to expect regarding the end of the world, you are in greater danger of being deceived.

Yahushua warned his followers to “watch” for his return, saying, “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” (Matthew 24:4-5, KJV) To guard against Satan’s delusions, many Christians have developed their own “signs” to watch for.

Many assume that when the true Saviour returns, his feet will not touch the earth. This confusion stems from Paul’s description of Yahushua’s coming:

For [Yahushua] himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of Yahuwah. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. (See 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.)

From this passage, many assume that when Yahushua returns, the saints will be taken to Heaven with him. This is incorrect. It is important to know the true order of final events in order not to be deceived by Satan’s counterfeit.

Order of Events

The beginning of the end commences when “Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book.” (Daniel 12:1, NKJV)

After the righteous are caught up to meet Yahushua in the clouds, the joyous company descends to earth:

And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. (Zechariah 14:4, KJV)

John describes what happens next:

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while. (Revelation 20:1-2, NKJV)

This will be followed shortly thereafter by the literal recreation of the earth as the events that occur during the time of trouble and Yahushua’s return essentially destroy the earth.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of Yah, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. (See 2 Peter 3:10-13.)

The recreation of the earth prepares for the relocation of the New Jerusalem from Heaven to earth!

new jerusalem

Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from Yahuwah, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of Yah is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. Yahuwah Himself will be with them and be their God.” (Revelation 21:1-3 NKJV)

Once the New Jerusalem has been relocated, it becomes the capitol of the new earth. From here, Christ and the saints will reign during the millennium that Satan is bound.

And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Yahushua and for the word of Yah, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. (Revelation 20:4-5)

At the close of the millennium, Satan is released for a short period of time during which he again deceives all who have persisted in rebellion. This is the final act of his rebellion, though, as Yahuwah then executes judgement on those who obstinately remain impenitent.

set apartNow when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from Yah out of heaven and devoured them. The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. (See Revelation 20:7-10.)

At long last, the great controversy between holiness and evil will be triumphantly concluded.

And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of Yahuwah and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for Yahuwah Elohim gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever. (See Revelation 22:3-5.)

Don’t delay to accept Yah’s gift of salvation. Forgiveness, spiritual discernment, peace, and joy await all who trust in the merits of Yahushua.
