Question: Is WLC anti-Israel? Some of the comments have made me wonder . . .
Answer: WLC is not anti-Israel any more than it is anti-New Zealand or anti-Brazil or anti-Kenya. The frequently war-mongering actions of the Zionist government of Israel, however, are a different matter. WLC does not believe that modern Israel holds a special, exalted position that automatically excuses aggressive actions that break the divine command to “Do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with your Eloah.” (Micah 6:8)
Israel, as a nation, rejected Yahuwah millennia ago when they demanded a king in order to be like other nations. “And Yahuwah said to Samuel, ‘Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.’ ” (1 Samuel 8:7)
The Heavenly Father bore long with Israel, however. Not even the murder of His own Son could staunch the flow of divine love. It was not until Israel rejected the Messiah in the person of the early believers that divine mercy finally bowed to the wishes of the stubborn heart and withdrew where it was not wanted. Just days before Yahushua’s death, His heartbroken words foretold what would happen in just a few years’ time:
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the Prophets, and stonest them that are sent to thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, as the hen gathered her brood under her wings, and ye would not.
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I tell you, ye shall not see me until the time come that ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. (Luke 13:34-35, 1599 Geneva Bible)
WLC believes that the stoning of Stephen marked the act that finalized the nation of Israel’s rejection of the Messiah and the turning point at which they ceased to be Yahuwah’s chosen people. The rejection of the convicting Spirit of Yah is the one sin that is unpardonable and it was this action that finally closed Israel’s fate. Stephen’s final words before his death verify this very thing:
“You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it.”

Henceforth, spiritual Israel took the place of physical Israel.
For you are all sons of Yahuwah through faith in Yahushua the Annointed. For as many of you as were baptized into Yahushua have put on Yahushua. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Yahushua the Annointed. And if you are Yahushua’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:26-29)
All who
have surrendered their all to the Saviour, accepted His death to cover their
sins, and live in Him are accounted children of Abraham and heirs to the
promises made to Israel.
