Question: Regarding Sabbath versus Saturday/Sunday, WLC is getting a bit too picky. It does not matter which day one worships on. We are supposed to be like Yahushua: holy every day, not just one day out of every week. I worship every day. All days are alike in Yahuwah’s eyes. Every day should be holy to Yahuwah.
Answer: Many people believe that all days are alike, but is that what the Bible teaches? We agree that Yahuwah’s people are to be like Yahushua: holy every day. However, “holiness” is simply being in agreement with Yahuwah. Certainly one should worship his Creator every day. But are all days truly alike? If we want to be holy, we must be in agreement with our Creator. Therefore, the real question is: does Yahuwah view all days alike?
Exodus 20:8-10 quotes our Creator as saying: “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yahuwah thy Eloah: In it, thou shalt not do any work . . . .” The command to work the first six days is just as binding as is the command to stop working on the seventh day, the Sabbath. Here, in His own words, is shown the difference Yahuwah makes between days and which He requires us to make.
There are some religious sects which do no work, keeping every day as a holy worship day. These monks end up being parasites – eating by the efforts of others hard work. They may claim that all days are alike to them, holy days, but that is not in agreement with Yahuwah who proclaimed that work was to be done for six days. The day of rest was specified as the seventh day – not the first or the third or the fifth, but the seventh.
To be truly holy, Yahuwah’s people will be in agreement with Him: working the first six days, and resting from work on the seventh day.
