Why does WLC teach that the sounding of Revelation's Seven Trumpets has not yet happened?
Question: Why does WLC teach that the sounding of Revelation's Seven Trumpets has not yet happened? Why do you interpret the numbers given in relation to the Trumpets literally?
Answer: The book of Revelation was given specifically for Yahuwah's people living in the time of the end. This time period, the "time of the end," begins with the end of 1,260 year prophecy. This can be easily proven from Daniel 11. (Refer to the link above: "time of the end") The fact that the book of Revelation is focused primarily on end time events demonstrates that the traditional historic interpretation of the Seven Trumpets is not sound. The purpose of a trumpet is to warn of imminent or impending danger; it is to sound an alarm so that His people are not taken unaware. Thus, the sole purpose of the trumpets is not truly fulfilled by the traditional historic interpretation. Furthermore, the historic interpretation, in general, provides events that do not fit clearly the details of each trumpet.
It is important to remember that in the period referred to as the "time of the end," we cannot apply prophetic time for indicated periods. If we were to do this, the "Time of the End" would be a misnomer. The "time of the end" indicates a short period of time that will precede the end of all things as we know them.
The Trumpets occupy the greatest number of chapters in the book of Revelation. No other subject is given more focus or detail. Thus, given the primacy of the Trumpets, it is absurd to relegate them to historic interpretation, which does not provide any spiritual benefit or insight to end-time events or end-time believers.
Revelation 11:3 is given within the context of an interlude between the Second and Third Woes. In this interlude, which extends from Revelation 10:1-13 to 11:1-14, Yahushua is highlighting the details of major events that will take place during the Trumpets period. This interlude is unique, in that it provides prophetic details which are not recorded elsewhere in Scripture. In this interlude, we learn much about the length of final probationary time given to sinners (1260 literal days) and the hardships that will be faced by Yahuwah's people as they prophesy for the last time during this time period.
For these reasons, we cannot accept that the Trumpets of Revelation have already been fulfilled.
