Can God have a God?

Question: Can God have a God?

Answer: There is only one God in the Bible. Would it ever make sense to say that God has a God? Of course it doesn't make any sense whatsoever to say God has a God. It's absurd to say God has a God. God, by definition, has no God. He is above all and greater than all.

Deu 6:4  "Hear, O Israel! Yahuwah is our God, Yahuwah is one!

Mar 12:32  And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

Gal 3:20  Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

If God had a God then his God would be someone else and you will necessarily end up with two Gods where one of these Gods is a God of the other. It's a ludicrous proposition not found in the Bible. Consider these verses:

Mat 27:46  And about the ninth hour Yahushua cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Was that God the Son calling out to his God? God's God? No!
Did God think that his God had forsaken Him? No!

Joh 20:17  Yahushua saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Did God the Son say that He, God, was ascending to his God? God's God?

Rev 3:12  Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Was God the Son referring to His God? God's God? No!

Eph 1:17  That the God of our Lord Yahushua Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

Is Paul referring to God's God? No. There is just one God, the Father Yahuwah, and there is no other God. And we have one mediator, the man Yahushua Christ:

1Ti 2:5  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Yahushua;

Gal 3:20  Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

Heb 12:22  But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

Heb 12:23  To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

Heb 12:24  And to Yahushua the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

Conclusion: There is only one God and the idea of "God having his God" or "God the Son having the Father as his God" is not biblical nor does it make any sense. There is no such thing as "God the Son", because we have just one God, the Father.
