Moses was the one who was called to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. It was very important that they did not forget the God of their fathers. Note what Yahuwah said to Moses: "And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God [Yahuwah Elohim] of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. (Exodus 3:15)

And who was their God? Yahuwah Elohim, the only true God of Israel.

- And Moses said unto the LORD [Yahuwah], O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. (Exodus 4:10)
- That the LORD [Yahuwah] spake unto Moses, saying, I am the LORD [Yahuwah]: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that Isay unto thee. (Exodus 6:29)
- And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM (hayah asher hayah): and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. (Exodus 3:14)
