Does ''the son of God'' mean ''God the Son''?

Question: Does "the son of God" mean "God the Son"?

Answer:

Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Yahushua Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. (2 John 1:3)

The "Son of God" is not and cannot be "God the Son". Why? Because God is only one, the Father. And Yahushua is the Son of the Father, the son of God. Very simple and clear. They are 2 identities:

  1. "God the Father" - Yahuwah
  2. "The Son of God the Father" - Yahushua

1) The One God is not a "Son of Man":

God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. (Numbers 23:19).

2) The Israelites are "Sons of God" too, not only Yahushua:

You are the sons of Yahuwah your God. (Deuteronomy 14:1)

And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith Yahuwah, Israel is my son, even my firstborn. (Exodus 4:22)

Do ye thus requite Yahuwah, O foolish people and unwise? Is not he thy father that hath bought thee? Hath he not made thee, and established thee? (Deuteronomy 32:6)

Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee. And when Yahuwah saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters. (Deuteronomy 32:18-19)

3) The Judges of Israel are "Sons of God" too:

I said, "You are gods, and sons of the Most High - all of you. Nevertheless you will die like men and fall like any one of the princes." (Psalm 82:6).

4) Angels are "Sons of God" too:

Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?.... When the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy? (Job 38:4,7).

5) Satan is a "son of God" too:

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before Yahuwah, and Satan also came among them. (Job 1:6).

6) Christians are "Sons of God" too:

You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:26).

The Trinitarian error is also made plain when we recognize that true disciples of Yahushua are sons of God. In fact, just as Yahushua was begotten from above by the Spirit of Yah, all the disciples of Yahushua are begotten from above by the Spirit of Yah. For this reason Yahushua is described as the "firstborn of many brothers."

Conclusion: It is quite easy to see that "son of man" does not mean someone is Adam and "son of God" does not mean someone is "God." Angels are also sons of God yet Trinitarians do not try to claim that this means they are the one God. And being one of those angels, Satan is also a "son of God."

Moreover, believers in Yahushua are begotten "sons of God." The term "son of God" means that someone is a son of another identity called "God." "The Son of God" is not "God the Son".
