Romans 13: The Verse Used to Control Believers.
WLC Commentary
Romans 13 has divided the church for centuries. Many quote it to demand obedience — but few stop to ask what kind of obedience Yahuwah truly requires. Paul’s words about submission to authority were written in a time of persecution, corruption, and fear. Yet within them lies a divine test: Will we follow man’s rule when it contradicts Yahuwah's? This passage isn’t a call to blind loyalty — it’s a call to spiritual discernment. To honor authority, yes, but never above the King of Heaven. When the laws of men clash with the commands of Christ, Romans 13 becomes a mirror that reveals where our allegiance truly lies. Listen closely. What you believe about this chapter could determine who you’re really serving.
