Scripture is careful not to romanticize conscience. Paul clarifies that even a clear conscience isn’t the final judge. “I am not aware of anything against myself,” he writes, “but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me” (1 Corinthians 4:4). This distinction is crucial because conscience can be sincere and still be mistaken. Where do you stand?
