Weekly Survey
So, by saying, “It is finished,” Yahushua was signaling to the Jewish world that there was no more need for sacrifices or temples because his work brought ultimate fulfillment to what their sacrificial system foreshadowed. Where do you stand?
Number of members who participated in the survey: 72
- Answer 1: I agree.. (60) 83.3%
- Answer 2: I disagree.. (10) 13.9%
- Answer 3: Unsure.. (2) 2.8%
No, Jesus said “It is finished” in John 19:30. Just 2 verses earlier, John 19:28, says: “After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.” The word “accomplished” in verse 28 is the same exact word & tense as “finished” in verse 30. So Jesus’ declaration was about fulfilling everything that was written for Him to complete.
Correction.
The quote was forgotten.
