Could it be that Ellen White's Writings Trump the Scriptures?

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7:15 ESV

The title of this article is not arbitrary. We mean it when we say that the authors of the Bible were dead wrong when they asserted the following:

Sadly, Moses, David, Ethan the Ezrahite, and Jeremiah did not live to read the writings of Ellen White. If they were contemporaries of Ellen White, they would not have needed to wonder who would be equal to Yahuwah. Ellen White ‘under inspiration’ emphatically stated that another being is equal to Yahuwah. But Christ is equal with God, infinite and omnipotent. The Youth's Instructor, June 21, 1900.

Millions of followers worldwide have elevated Ellen White's writings to the level where they feel more comfortable accepting her statements than the writings of Moses, David, Ethan the Ezrahite, and Jeremiah. Suppose followers of Ellen White are not worried in the least to ignore inspired writings of the Bible and instead accept her statements as canonical, transcending any previous statements by the Bible’s prophets. Are we surprised that the same followers have rejected all the rays of light that Yahuwah shed on His people since her passing away? This is the natural corollary for elevating human tradition over the Bible.

Another Bizarre Statement

‘In Him was life, original, unborrowed, underived. (1SM 296) You can’t read this statement and the above statement without concluding that we have two equal gods on the world stage. One plays the father's role, and the second plays the son's role. Is this not idolatry? Introducing another divine being equal to Father Yahuwah is pure idolatry and paganism. But this is what Ellen White has inculcated in the minds and hearts of her followers through her extensive books and articles. Her followers readily imbibe her words while brushing aside Father Yahuwah’s repeated warnings about idolatry and worshipping other gods. How can we ignore such solemn warnings by Father Yahuwah?

‘They made Him jealous with strange gods; With abominations they provoked Him to anger.’ (Deuteronomy 32:16)

‘You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, Yahuwah your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me.’ (Deuteronomy 5:9)

Ellen White, as is often the case, contradicts the very words of Yahushua when He affirmed in John 5:26. ‘For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.’ Yahushua confirms that whatever He has, His Father has given Him. But Ellen White disputes this claim when she insisted that ‘in Him was life, original, unborrowed, underived.’

‘We have many lessons to learn, and many, many to unlearn. God and Heaven alone are infallible. Those who think that they will never have to give up a cherished view, never have occasion to change an opinion, will be disappointed. As long as we hold to our own ideas and opinions with determined persistency, we cannot have the unity for which Christ prayed.’ (CET 203) This is a wise counsel that she gave to her followers. However, the historical record proves that she has not followed this instruction. When the light of the flat earth was presented to her, she denigrated it. And since she died in 1915, her followers have not learned or unlearned any lesson.

She had no qualms about disagreeing with Yahushua, David, Jeremiah, Daniel, and many other prophets of the Bible. And this destructive disposition has been passed on to her followers. So when you point to a biblical truth that contradicts their understanding, such as the alleged divinity of Christ, instead of asking for more biblical verses, they rush to Ellen White’s statements. If they find she has a contrary view to what the Bible verse asserts, they refuse to explore the Bible further since Ellen White has settled the matter for them and has thus ended the need for any discussion.

Ellen White wrote ‘We have many lessons to learn, and many, many to unlearn. Her followers faithfully adhere to her teachings and reject any new ray of light for which they can’t find support or endorsement in her writings.

The Final Word

There is much we find in the writings of Ellen White that is not in harmony with the Scriptures. We have pointed out only a partial sample of these inconsistencies in separate short articles. But the most critical fact that led us to reject her claims as a chosen messenger of Yahuwah for His people in these last days is her insistence on presenting Yahushua as a self-existing, omnipotent divine being equal to Father Yahuwah. Her insistence on the divinity of Yahushua and on His equality with the Father has betrayed the source of her ‘inspiration.’ Our jealous Father Yahuwah can’t be the source of her inspiration and inspire her to introduce another divine being equal to him in power and infinity. We would not want to be part of such idolatrous teaching and/or movement. We are eternally indebted to Father Yahuwah for opening our eyes to see this egregious deception that has swept millions of SDAs worldwide. Some of us at WLC are third-generation Seventh-day Adventists. Not only this, but we were [until 2017] most active in promoting and distributing her books worldwide because we once believed in her divine credentials.

Out of our indescribable appreciation for Father Yahuwah’s patience in divorcing us from the stranglehold of her books and returning us to ‘the Bible and Bible alone' authority, we obligingly share this truth with all who care to listen.

But suppose that you are still not alarmed by the fact that Ellen White and her followers worship two divine beings who are co-equal and both are infinite and omnipotent. And suppose that you do not regard this as a most heinous idolatry in the eyes of Father Yahuwah. In this case, you will likely believe us if we ever claim that we have few bridges to sell at exceptional prices.
