Did Yahushua, Paul and other Apostles believe in a Triune G-d?

The King James Version (KJV) is mostly used in these lessons. Click here to access the KJV online.

It must be noted here that there are known corruptions of some original texts in the original New Testament, obviously done in an attempt to support the false Trinity doctrine with its Triune G-d and Pre-existent, Pre-incarnate Christ. These will be studied in other lessons.

Question: Does the original New Testament promote one G-d?...or a triune G-d?

Answer:

Triune G-d? No

  • There is no text in the original New Testament that says G-d is three.
  • There is no text in the original New Testament that says G-d is a triune G-d.
  • There is no text in the original New Testament that says G-d is the Father + the Son + Holy Spirit, three persons in one G-d.

One G-d? Yes

The New Testament states clearly that there is only one G-d, the Father. Yahushua also confirmed this when he quoted Deut. 6:4 as the first commandment in his reply to one of the scribes:

"And [Yahushua] answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord [Yahuwah] our G-d is one Lord [Yahuwah]: And thou shalt love the Lord [Yahuwah] thy G-d with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment." (Mark 12:29-39, KJV)

Paul and others also believed clearly in one G-d, the Father:

"But to us there is but one G-d, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord [Yahushua] Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." (1 Corinthians 8:6, KJV)

"Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in G-d the Father and in the Lord [Yahushua] Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from G-d our Father, and the Lord [Yahushua] Christ." (1 Thessalonians 1:1, KJV)

"Jude, the servant of [Yahushua] Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by G-d the Father, and preserved in [Yahushua] Christ, and called." (Jude 1:1, KJV)

Question: Did Yahushua believe in one G-d?...or a triune G-d?

Answer:

Triune G-d? No

  • There is not a single text in the entire Bible that supports the idea that Yahushua believed in a triune G-d.
One G-d? Yes

Yahushua believed in only one G-d, the Father. His G-d was not a triune G-d. He agreed with a Jewish scribe that the Shema is the foremost commandment:
  • "And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And [Yahushua] answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord [Yahuwah] our G-d is one Lord [Yahuwah]: And thou shalt love the Lord [Yahuwah] thy G-d with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment." (Mark 12:28-30)
The Shema says:
  • "Hear, O Israel: The LORD [Yahuwah] our G-d is one LORD [Yahuwah]: And thou shalt love the LORD [Yahuwah] thy G-d with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." (Deuteronomy 6:4-5)
And the scribe replied to Yahushua:
  • "Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one G-d; and there is none other but he: And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul..." (Mark 12:32-33)
His words, "there is one G-d; and there is none other but he" show that G-d is one: "he", "him" - Not three persons of the a triune G-d, or a Trinity.

And Yahushua agreed with his reply by saying:
  • "Thou art not far from the kingdom of G-d." (Mark 12:34)
Yahushua also identified our only G-d as the heavenly Father:
  • "Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath G-d the Father sealed." (John 6:27)
  • "And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father." (John 6:65)
  • "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:" (Mat 6:14)
  • "[Yahushua] answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your G-d." (John 8:54)
Before Yahushua was born, the Psalmist wrote this prophecy about him:
  • "He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my G-d, and the rock of my salvation. Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth." (Psalm 89:26-27)

After Yahushua was born, he fulfilled this prophecy. He called his G-d his Father. Later Yahuwah made him His firstborn, higher that the kings of the earth.  It is abundantly clear that Yahushua believed in one G-d, the Father.
