Question: Why Did Yahushua Have To Suffer And Die?

Answer: Two primary qualities of Yahuwah Elohim help us to understand why Yahushua Christ had to suffer and die in order to redeem mankind. Yahuwah is Righteous and Love.

1) Yahuwah is Righteous

O Yahuwah Elohim of Israel, thou art righteous... Ezra 9:15

Gracious is Yahuwah, and righteous; yea, our Yahuwah is merciful. Psalm 116:5

O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee... Daniel 9:7

2) Yahuwah is Love

Yahuwah is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in Yahuwah, and Yahuwah in him. 1 John 4:16

For Yahuwah so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

3) The righteousness of Yahuwah demands sinless life

In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death. Proverbs 12:28

He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour. Proverbs 21:21

To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to Yahuwah than sacrifice. Proverbs 21:3

4) We are all sinners

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of Yahuwah; Romans 3:23

... none is good, save one, that is, G-d [Yahuwah]. Luke 18:19

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Isaiah 64:6

5) Sin and sinners condemned to death

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of G-d [Yahuwah] is eternal life in Christ Yahushua our Lord. Rom 6:23

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1:15

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:17

Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. Psalm 34:21

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Romans 5:12

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. Romans 5:14

6) The Solution: righteous Christ died as substitute for the us unrighteous

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Yahushua: for he shall save his people from their sins.Mat 1:21

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. John 10:11

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Luke 22:19

Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. Luke 22:20

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:8

For G-d [Yahuwah] so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

7) For whom did Yahushua Christ die?

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ung-dly. Romans 5:6

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to G-d [Yahuwah] by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Romans 5:10

8) We are all dead with Christ by faith

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead. 2 Corinthians 5:14

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of G-d [Yahuwah], who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. Romans 6:8

9) Because we died with Christ, we also rose with him

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of G-d [Yahuwah]. Colossians 3:1

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Yahushua. Ephesians 2:6

10) We are justified freely by his grace

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
But now the righteousness of G-d [Yahuwah] without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Even the righteousness of G-d [Yahuwah] which is by faith of Yahushua Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of G-d [Yahuwah];
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Yahushua:
Whom G-d [Yahuwah] hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of G-d [Yahuwah];
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Yahushua. Romans 3:20-26

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Romans 3:28

Conclusion:

The first Adam disobeyed Yahuwah. He experienced the judgment of Yah—he ultimately died and his body turned to dust. Because of his sin, death came upon all men including each of us.

... by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. Romans 5:12

The last Adam, Yahushua Christ, also died—on the cross—to atone for sin (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 3:18; Hebrews 2:9).

But He did not stay dead, nor did His body ‘see corruption’ (Acts 2:27; 13:35–37).

On the third day He rose again, thereby overcoming the devil and the power of death for all those who believe in Him (Hebrews 2:14), -----and bringing resurrection from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:22–23).

All who are connected with the last Adam (Yahushua) through repentance and faith in his redeeming work, are forgiven, have received the free gift of righteousness. They are justified before Yahuwah and have passed from death to life.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:14

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Yahushua Christ. Romans 5:17
