While WLC continues to uphold the observance of the Seventh-Day Sabbath, which is at the heart of Yahuwah's moral law, the 10 Commandments, we no longer believe that the annual feast days are binding upon believers today. Still, though, we humbly encourage all to set time aside to commemorate the yearly feasts with solemnity and joy, and to learn from Yahuwah’s instructions concerning their observance under the Old Covenant. Doing so will surely be a blessing to you and your home, as you study the wonderful types and shadows that point to the exaltation of Messiah Yahushua as the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the conquering lion of the tribe of Judah, and the Lamb of Yahuwah that takes away the sins of the world.

What was Eve’s role in Yahuwah’s scheme of things?

The King James Version (KJV) is mostly used in these lessons. Click here to access the KJV online.

The solution to Adam’s lack of a ‘help meet’ was Eve - the first woman.

In Genesis 2:21-24 the woman, was, and still is, Yahuwah’s most awesome gift to man. She is to be loved and cherished today – also as an act of thanksgiving to Yahuwah. It is very obvious that she did not have any misunderstandings about her role in Yahuwah’s plans.

Genesis 2:21- And Yahuwah Elohim caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 – And the rib, which Yahuwah Elohim had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

Adam had sought diligently for a helper that was suitable, but found none. The next thing he knew, Yahuwah brought him a woman whom He created out of his own rib. What an awesome gift from Yahuwah!” So she is to be treated as one of the most wonderful gifts from Yahuwah, to be loved and cherished. To love, nourish, cherish and respect her, continue to be acts of appreciation and gratitude to Yahuwah for His loving kindness, with His promised blessings to follow.

V.23 – And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. V.24 – Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

What a beautiful thing Yahuwah has done! We see no indication here that Yahuwah wanted Eve to have any dominion over Adam. She was made from Adam and Adam is the one who named her “woman” (Hebrew: Isha). She was not created to be his authority figure. Rather, the purpose Yahuwah had in mind when creating woman was for her to help or assist the man. As we will continue to see going forward, this is the reason why a woman is not to have authority over a man. Her role all throughout the scriptures is not to have authority over a man. She is to be loved and cherished by man in the home, and in the Ekklesia/assembly. Every scripture which speaks of a man’s and woman’s role must be interpreted with this understanding as its backdrop. In the same way a fish was made to swim in the water and a bird to fly in the heavens, woman was created to be a help and companion to man.
