Luke 8:1- Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of Yahuwah. And the twelve [were] with Him, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities–Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance.

The same Greek (#1247 diakoneo/deacon) word is used here, which is translated “ministered” (KJV) or “provided”. The word translated “substance” is #5224 which means possessions, goods, and wealth. It is also used in other verses such as:

Luke 19:8- And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Master; Behold, Master, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

It is translated “goods” in this verse. Another example:

Luke 14:33- So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

These women were indeed forsaking what they had and using their goods to serve Yahushua. It doesn’t give specifics but surely they were providing clothing, food and other needs. All supporting Yahushua in a manner that would be a ‘help’ to him. They were not teaching or leading men, for women were not created to lead men.
