The Sabbath | Part 1 - Revealing Yahuwah's Character
The Law of Yahuwah is a perfect transcript of His character, His innermost thoughts and feelings. Yahuwah’s Law is perpetual and unchanging. It will stand forever.
Satan knows that the divine Law is the rule of government for both Heaven and earth. He also knows that none who break the Law will enter Heaven. So, Satan deceives people into thinking they no longer need to obey the Law. Satan teaches the Law is “no longer binding.” He claims it has been “nailed to the cross.” This not only is a lie, but it contradicts Scripture!
I am Yahuwah, I change not. (See Malachi 3:6.)
Scripture says of the divine Law:
“The law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.” (Romans 7:12, KJV)
The Law cannot be changed or “done away with” because it is holy. It is just! It is good – just like Yahuwah.
The law of Yahuwah is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of Yahuwah is sure, making wise the simple.
The statutes of Yahuwah are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of . . . Yahuwah is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of Yahuwah is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of Yahuwah are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. (See Psalm 19:7-11.)
The Law is holy and perfect. To change it or set it aside would be to degrade it into a law that is unholy and imperfect. If the Law could be changed or set aside, it would mean that there was something wrong or unjust about the Law. By implication, this would mean that there was something wrong or unjust in the Lawgiver. Many sincere Christians worship on Sunday, believing the Law was “nailed to the cross” when Yahushua was crucified. In fact, the cross is the biggest proof that the Law is eternal and cannot be “done away with”!
All have sinned and come short of the glory of Yahuwah. (See Romans 3:23.)
Yahuwah does not leave anyone in doubt as to what constitutes sin:
“Sin is the transgression of the law.” (1 John 3:4)
The punishment given for breaking the Law is clearly stated in the Bible:
The wages of sin is death, but the gift of Yahuwah is eternal life through Yahushua the Anointed One, our Master. (See Romans 6:23.)
It was to save the world from its just punishment that Yahuwah sacrificed His own Son to die on the cross.
For Yahuwah so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (See John 3:16.)
Here is proof that the divine Law can never be changed, set aside or “nailed to the cross.” If it were possible to change the law, Yahushua would not have died! The Father would simply have changed the law so that the punishment for breaking the law was not death. To claim that the law was “done away with at the cross” is to disregard the immense cost of salvation. It was because the holy, just and righteous law could NOT be changed, that Yahuwah was willing to sacrifice His own Son in order to save sinners from the just punishment of death that they deserved. Yahushua is our substitute. He, the Son of the Law-giver, died for Law-breakers, so that we could be saved!
If it were possible to change the law, Yahushua would not have died! It was because the law could NOT be changed, that Yahuwah was willing to sacrifice His own Son to save sinners from the just punishment of death that they deserved.
The Bible is full of council and instruction on righteousness. “Righteous” simply means “right doing.” In other words, those who are referred to in the Bible as “righteous” are those who keep the Law of Yah! The rich promises of Scripture are for those who obey the divine Law: the righteous.
“For you, Yahuwah wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield.” (Psalm 5:12)
“Verily there is a reward for the righteous.” (Psalm 58:11)
The eyes of Yahuwah are upon the righteous, and His ears are open unto their cry. The face of Yahuwah is against them that do evil [break His Law], to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry, and Yahuwah hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. (See Psalm 34: 15-17.)
Yahushua plainly stated that no rebellious Law-breakers will be allowed into Heaven. Only those who are righteous, who keep the Law in “right doing,” will inherit eternal life.
“The Son of man shall send forth His angels, and they shall gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity [break the Law], and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
“Then shall the righteous [who keep the divine Law] shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.” (Matthew 13:41-43)
All earthly governments have laws. The heavenly Government is no different. Setting aside the divine Law, claiming that it was “nailed to the cross” and somehow is “no longer binding,” is nothing more than saying that it is acceptable to rebel and break the Law. Scripture equates breaking the Law to wickedness and is very clear that nothing “wicked” will enter heaven. In drawing aside the veil which hides the future from human eyes, the Bible says that the Heavenly “city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of Yahuwah did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. . . . And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie; but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life [for keeping His law will enter into it].” (Revelation 21:23, 27) Let it be fully understood, here; we do not keep the Law to become Heavenly citizens. Rather, we keep the Law because we are Heavenly citizens born again in Yahushua.
Setting aside the divine Law, claiming that it was “nailed to the cross” and somehow is “no longer binding,” is nothing more than saying that it is acceptable to rebel and break the Law.
The purpose of the very costly Plan of Salvation was to reconcile the Law-breakers and bring them back to being Law-keepers.
“For it pleased the Father that in Him Yahushua should all fullness dwell, and, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself.” (Colossians 1:20)
Heaven will not be repopulated with immortal Law-breakers. With the price of redemption paid by the divine Substitute, Law-breakers may be gifted with cleansed, purified minds. They then become Law-Keepers.
“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith Yahuwah, I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” (Hebrews10:16, 17)
This is the final end-goal of the Father and the Son: to have Their divine Law, the transcript of Their holy characters, once again be the characters of Their human children. When this transformation is accomplished, then the prayer will be fulfilled which Yahushua prayed, embracing all His faithful followers to the close of time:
“Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word, that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one in Us: . . . And the glory which Thou gavest Me I have given them; that they may be one, even as We are one. I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one.” (John 17:20-23)
In Scripture, “glory” is another word for “character.” Character is the thoughts and feelings. When Moses begged Yahuwah, “Show me Thy glory,” the gracious answer was:
I will make all My goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of Yahuwah before thee. (See Exodus 33:18, 19.)
And Yahuwah passed by before him, and proclaimed, Yahuwah, Yahuwah El, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. (See Exodus 34:6, 7.)
When the Saviour’s “glory” (or character, His thoughts and feelings) are given repentant Law-breakers, they become Law-keepers. Then they are ONE with Yahushua, just as He is ONE with the Father. Yahuwah in Yahushua; Yahushua in the righteous; the righteous in Them. This is the destiny for all who will obey the holy Law, rejecting Satan’s lie that it was “nailed to the cross.” Law-breakers will never inherit the eternal kingdom, but the righteous, right-doing Law-keepers will live forever, rejoicing in the presence of the Father and the Son, with whom they are ONE, for within each is the holy, pure and just Law.
“As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation. The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.” (Proverbs 10:25, 30)
“Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land forever.” (Isaiah 60:21)
