Scripture contains a promise that is the most powerful ever given. |
I have a secret I want to share with you. It’s not really a secret. The information is out there for anyone willing to dig for it. But the knowledge has been deliberately hidden, and lost. The secret is: the divine name contains the most powerful promise in the universe.
Satan has hidden this promise, obscuring it under the generic titles of lord, and god—titles that apply to heathen deities as well.
Yahuwah wants the promise contained in His name to be known and used. This is why Scripture repeatedly urges believers to “Call upon the name of Yahuwah,” (1 Chronicles 16:8) and all who do are promised an answer (Psalm 50:15). It’s because there’s power there! A promise! A promise designed to fit any and every need that might possibly arise.
An unusual name
The Creator is the originating source of all life. His name, while unusual, perfectly describes His status as the almighty self-existent One. His name is a verb-of-being. Verbs of being are: am, is, are, was, were, be, being, and been. All of these perfectly apply to Him that is, and was, and shall be forever more.
At the burning bush when Moses asked who he should say had sent him, the reply, as translated into English, was “I Am That I Am: and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.” (Exodus 3:14, KJV)
The actual word, however, is simply: be. “Be! Be! Say that Be has sent me to you.”
Be, in Hebrew, is hayah.
Power in the name!
There is power in the divine name. An ancient war cry in Korea was, “Hayah!” Even today, people who study martial arts are taught that crying “hiyah” will increase the physical power of their hits or kicks.
Yahuwah’s prophets understood the power of the divine name, as well. In Genesis 12:2, Yahuwah told Abram: “I will bless thee and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.”
Abram was already blessed, so [Yahuwah’s] pronouncement conferred upon him a future blessedness. The use of hayah in such passages declares the actual release of power, so that the accomplishment is assured —Abram will be blessed because [Yahuwah] has ordained it.
The prophets used hayah to project [Yah’s] intervention in the future. By using this verb, they emphasized … the underlying divine force that will effect them … When covenants were made between two partners, the formulas usually included hayah.
One of the most debated uses of hayah occurs in Exodus 3:14 where [Yah] tells Moses His name. He says: I AM (Hayah) THAT I AM (Hayah).
Since the divine name, …[Yahuwah] was well known long before … this revelation seems to emphasize that the God [Eloah] who made the covenant, was the God that kept that covenant. So, Exodus 3:14 is more than a simple of statement of identity: “I AM THAT I AM;” it is a declaration of divine control of all things.1
This is the secret of the power hidden in the divine name, and it is what turns the name into the most powerful promise in the universe.
The promise in the name
Isaiah 55:11 reveals the astonishing fact that the word of Yah itself contains the power to do what it says: “My word shall not return unto Me void but it shall accomplish the thing whereunto I sent it.”
This knowledge, combined with the power inherent in the divine name, will unlock all the treasures of Heaven, and unleash all the power of divinity on behalf of the humble follower who, by faith, lays hold of the divine promise and, like Jacob wrestling with the angel, refuse to let go.
For healing—physical, mental, or emotional; for protection; for forgiveness, cleansing, and restoration; for overcoming sin … for literally anything you need, the divine name itself is a promise you can claim. And the power to fulfill that promise is contained in the word itself!
This is how the universe was brought into existence. The powerful name of Yah was used repeatedly.
David explained how the world was created: “Let all the earth fear Yahuwah: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.” (Psalm 33:8-9, KJV) And what He spoke, over, and over, and over again, was His name.
Light … BE!
Light was.
Dry ground … BE!
Dry ground was.
Plants … BE!
Plants were.
Everything that exists came into being through divine power communicated via the divine name.
Claiming the promise
This is why Yahuwah cannot lie. If something did not exist before, it does just as soon as He speaks the words.
This is also why we are to call upon the name of Yahuwah. It is how we are to overcome in the battle against sin. Literally anything you need for life, health, happiness, and help in overcoming sin is contained in the power of the divine name.
His name, Be, coupled with your need, becomes a promise that will be fulfilled when you claim it by faith.
So, what do you need? His word to you is:
- Be healed.
- Be provided for.
- Be strong.
- Be comforted.
- Be courageous.
- Be forgiven.
- Be cleansed.
- Be recreated into the divine image.
This is what it means to call upon the name of Yahuwah. Because Yahuwah’s words contain the very power that called the universe into existence, those same words, spoken in faith when living in full surrender to His will, become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
So, when you call upon the name of Yahuwah, when you let your faith grasp the promise of the name, His word to you is fulfilled. Paul understood this powerful concept. In Hebrews 11, he explained: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Yahushua said, “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13, KJV) This is not some divine slot machine: say it and get it. As always, Yah’s promises are given on condition of obedience to His revealed will.
However, this powerful promise is Yah’s intended means for our overcoming. When your faith grasps that the power to fulfill the promise is contained in the very word of Yah itself, you will know that you can declare it and it is so, not because of any goodness in you, but because of who He is: the Creator; and what He is: your Father who loves you.
Call upon the name of Yahuwah. He wants you to! His word to you today is: “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” (John 16:24, KJV)
